Bad Bios update unable to boot (Striker II Formula)

I've heard good stuff about XFX boards in general. If I knew about some of the problems with the striker II formula, id have gone with the XFX hands down as its a better board.

Whats it like for overclocking?

Also does anyone know what ESA certified boards are? I've got a Dell XPS 630i with a Nforce 680i which was supposedly ESA certified.

Its pretty bad mate, I got my q9550 to 3Ghz and it wasnt even that stable, games would go crazy sometimes but it was almost stable, but on stock speeds everything seemed to work perfect and other than overclocking never had a problem with it. you wont regret buying a Asus p5q pro turbo. but if SLI is a must then go with that. The best 780i IMO so its stablility vs SLI to be honest. Depending on your overclocking skills you might be able to get some decent clocks out of it. but ask some other people and read some reviews. but I would go for the P5q anyday now that I got one

Damn, thats a big disappointment mate! I could push my E8400 to 4ghz on my Striker II Formula with no sweat, and because its E0, barely any voltage increase, but the ******* NB was so hot I could fry an egg on it!

Yeah, the 780i chipsets cant really handle quad cores its more stability not overclocking, you will see a lot more stablility in a p45 board than a nvidia chipset, but they do seem to work good with dual cores as you said you got yours to 4GHz. but the XFX 780i is the best of the bunch for sure
