Bad Block

Hi all,

I upgraded to a Kingston SSDNow V-Series V100 128GB from my Raptors in RAID0 a month ago.

I have noticed in the Windows event viewer that I am getting literally thousands of Bad Block events.

Code:

The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block.

I have 3 hard drives connected:

1x Kingston SSD 128GB
1x WD Raptor 150GB
1x WD Green 2TB

Is it safe to assume that HardDrive0 is my SSD? Windows is installed on the SSD.

Is there any diagnostics tools I can run on my SSD to see if I should RMA it or not?

I should have asked this aswell:

Should I have enabled AHCI in my BIOS? It is still on IDE. Should I have enabled AHCI on my BIOS and then installed Windows, or can I just change it now?
I have turned off the page file, is there anything else I should do?

Blocks are part of the structure that make NAND storage. Like Lego. If you're getting bad ones I'd say back up your files and RMA.

Yeah I had a feeling I would be returning this one.

I contacted Kingston and apparently there was an urgent firmware update released for this drive in particular last March.

The advised me that once those errors have started to appear in the event log that I should RMA it.

This is the second part I have had to RMA on my new rig

Hopefully this is the last..
