Bad News if you ordered the Rog Strix 3080 OC

Pre-ordering has always been a joke, but some people seem to get a warm fuzzy feeling from doing it :p Their cash at the end of the day, but I can't see much if any logical reason to pre-order.

I don't get all these posts where people say they can't see any reasons or understand them. Do you just mean you don't agree with them instead? People that pre-order will get the GPU before people that wait for stock to stabilise, whether you agree with doing that or not, it's a pretty obvious reason for why people pre-order. If stock were plentiful, then sure, no point pre-ordering. Whether you pre-order or buy it on launch, you still get it the following day. However, in this case, there is a clear benefit to pre-ordering.

There are so few 3080 strix that there is only 1 review sample in the UK which is being passed around the media and youtubers

L O L

See ya in summer 2021 at this rate

Exactly. The behaviour here is akin to addiction and OCUK know it. It works in their favour not to post any queue info so long as the pre-orders keep flowing in. They keep making money, people will complain bitterly and then do it all over again when the 4000 series arrive

Yep. Its insane. There already overpriced. As soon as people realised the stock shortage they should have cancelled and got there money back. You dont pay for something and wait 6 months for it to turn up. You've gotta be desperate for a new video card. New cards from AMD around the corner wait and see. Nvidia will keep robbing us if everyone goes ordered these overhyped cards.

I see no reason for a payment to be taken before a card is despatched except greed.A pre order can be taken on the basis of the order being made, there is no reason to take payment i see justified

totally agree

You dont pay for something and wait 6 months for it to turn up..

Not strictly true, it took 6 months for my wife to turn up from China.

Joke aside, Nvidia have really screwed everyone over on this launch, including the extra hell retailers are having to go through (administration and comms etc), the pre-orders from general consumers and existing 2080ti owners.
It could have easily been avoided, well perhaps not the 2080ti owners!.

Worried about AMD they launched too early without any consideration to anyone else - corporate greed!

Hahahahahahhaa

Given no-deal is a likely outcome atm. https://uk.advfn.com/newspaper/advfnnews/56214/what-will-happen-to-the-pound-after-brexit

Negative: In the event of a poorly anticipated no-deal Brexit, the pound will fall again. At its worst, during the global crisis in 2008, the pound fell as low as €1.02 to the pound, which is close to parity. In the event of the country being in a poor economic position due to the coronavirus, and having no deals in place with countries outside the European Union, a hard Brexit will most likely see the pound dip below parity with the euro. The economy will suffer as a result, and recovery will be a tremendous struggle, with the UK’s goods and services up for easy grabs by anyone prepared to make a deal.

It's 1 pound to 1.10 euros atm.

I agree they are already overpriced like stated above. This video tries to make the point.
