Bahrain GP 2012 - Will it go ahead?

there hasn't really been anything truly worth mentioning regarding the actual state of the country.

heard it mentioned on the radio this morning that there have been explosions there last night, didn't really hear any clarification on what sort of explosions or any damage done etc.

media don't do themselves any favours, rather than actually report things as they are, most are just content to bring the highlight/headline points to the viewer/reader :(.

Yes the media don't do themselves any favours but he handled it badly. All he had to say was he was satisfied with what he knows to go there himself. If he thinks the media are miss representing what's going on in bahrain he could have informed them why they are wrong and where he got his information on the current standing in bahrain.

He didn't do that because he won't commit himself and would rather play the grumpy old man. I would guess Bernie is getting his information from the government in bahrain, is that the best source?

Well thats settled it then.

In order to document the unrest in the country after the FIA announced they will be going to Bahrain the media have just filled everyones TV screens with images of mobs looting shops, attacking funerals, and exploding pipe bombs in crowds of police.

So now its all over the news again, just like it was last year, so going there will look bad. Can't see the teams wanting to go there now!

I still don't think it will go ahead actually.

Is there a final date where it absolutely positvely cannot be cancelled after it? I'm guessing Sunday is the final deadline as back to back weekends mean they will be shipping out to Bahrain right after the race?

Not sure but the teams normally arrive Tues/Wed, so would have to be about then I'd guess, before everything is unpacked.

lol at the sky video where he almost rips someones head off when they ask if hes going to bahrain...
i guess its not a problem when you fly in on a private jet to a 5star hotel.

bet he gets helicopted to and from the airport to the hotel and then to and from the circuit in a heli.

ofcourse hes got no worries its the mechanics and truck drivers that have to sleep in the **** hotels and face the angry mobs
