Oh yeah I forgot about the Hamilton losing a bit of time. The blocking was his fault not the safety cars though. They still benefited from Vettel losing his undercut so it probably evened them out.

Slow pit stops appear to have been a poor compressed air supply for Mercedes, their responsibility I think. I do wonder what penalty there would be if Lewis came in at the speed limit and couldn't stop before hitting Valtteri. I would also like to see driving slow in UK roads penalised

I suspect things might take a turn later in the season when they have used all four engines.

Ham and Bottas both had 30+ (normal is 24) second stops under the safety car because of their pressure issue and traffic in pit lane. They came out 4 seconds behind Vettel when they should have been 2 seconds up.
As for Vettel lapping 3 seconds faster after his stop, he also had 10 cars between himself and Bottas so there was every chance that would have slowed and a pit window may have opened up for the Mercs. Not to mention he would have likely wrecked his tyres in the dirty air. The SC gifted Vettel the lead on a practically fresh set of tyres.
