Regarding "Bottas must win" posts, personally I don't think this weekend will be a true reflection. It's a one off race at a circuit completely different to anywhere else they've raced.

It's a bit like the old Hockenheim in 1999 when Salo rocked up in a Ferrari and comprehensively beat Irvine (and everyone else bar Hakkinen). The rest of the year he was nowhere near Irvine and mired in the mid-pack... except for Monza, the other oddball track.

Sunday could be a very different race to normal in that it's mainly straights and slow speed corners, like Monza or the old Hockenheim. If Hamilton misses Abu Dhabi (and that's quite tight time wise as he needs a negative test before he can enter the UAE) then it would be worse for Bottas if whoever replaced Hamilton beats him, but this weekend won't be an obvious yardstick.

With him being symptomatic, I think it's unlikely he'll be fit to race in Abu Dhabi regardless.

If Bottas doesn't win next weekend he should be sacked, regardless of whether its Vandoorne, Russell or Jackie Stewart in that Merc next weekend he should be getting the better of them...

Why? Hes not at Mercedes to be winning races. I imagine he will be their second driver until he decides to leave, Hamilton decides to leave or the team starts to think about LH successor.

For those critisicing the marshals with the fire extinguisher, looks like they were part of the Bahrain military or fire service?

Only the first marshal, the second was excellent, as was the one who crossed a live track to put out Perez’s car in case it went bang.
