Recently, my other brother has started to get a receding hairline. I was round his house the other day, and after me taking the mick, he said "I have to do something about this". He then shaved his head, first with clippers, then with a razor, and it looked great. He says he will do this until they find a cure for baldness, or for the rest of his life. I too plan on shaving my head if I start balding, which may well happen as it happened to my brother obviously. I sometimes do it anyway, so it's no big deal to me, and the ladies seem to really like it :p

Anyway, what do you guys think about balding? Does it worry you at all, or would you just go down the route of shaving your head? or perhaps, the dreaded comb over!

Its a pain in the arse, i laugh at people sayig "its only hair etc" especially when the people saying this aren't losing their hair. You do tend to become somewhat self concious about it, then you get the usual retarded questions "do you know you're losing your hair? Nah i just assumed the mass of hairs ive been getting on the pillow each morning for the past year had something to do with 2 cats shagging on it during the night.

I just normally keep mine short, inch or so in length. There are ways to get it fixed but they cost a lot of money, "dhi" is direct hair implanter where they take hair from the sides and back of your head and move it to the thinning spots, used t be they had to cut astrip of hair out to do this, now they use a syringe tool to extract the follicles and replant them in a couple of seconds (for each hair obviously).

Wow, sound painful / expensive just not to go bald! Each to their own I suppose. Have you ever considered shaving it all off, completely bald?

If you are really worried, I think I read an article in a science mag that some British company have basically found a cure, and were doing medical testing. It was called hair multiplication I think, and they were saying that it would be around by 2009 or something.

Doesn't really worry me much anymore to be honest, for the first lot of months though you are very aware of it and sorta try to hide it under hats or whatever. I dunno really if any of the current "fixes" is worthwhile, untill they can come out with some form of tablet course (which you dont have to keep taking) i don't see there being much point as the cost is easily in the 4-5000 range depending on how many hairs you need shifted. Its around 3 euros per folicle last i checked.

How do you know when you will stop balding though? Some people only get a slightly receded hairline (like my dad for instance) whilst others completely lose it.

Surely if you have all thse transplants done, and then keep balding in other areas, you will look a right fool?

Damn, thats some really clever stuff.

Its pretty much a cure by the looks of it, Im assuming these things will only get better and better.

Shaving a balding head is much better than many of the alternatives (the dreaded comb over!) If i follow my dad in going bald its the Garibaldi look for me

If its good enough for Marvellous Marvin Hagler, (his actual legal name btw) than it's good enough for me!

marvelous marvin the man!
no seriously baldness has never bothered me ,a bit of a relief i suppose look at it this way a lot less maintenance lol

I have longish hair now, but I couldnt' care less, if I start balding it's all going.

I see some people being so pathetic in keeping their hair. It's sad.

I just shave it off. Not completley, With the clippers but with no guide on..
Did worry me at first but now I dont care. Only 23...

I guess I must be the only one here then who would be bothered/worried if I started balding.

But in answer to the original question, I think shaving your hair to a short length, when the balding begins, is the best way forward.

At 48 I haven't got the slightest bald patch but I decided on a number one when I went grey about 10 years ago. One day I had grey corkscrew hair past my shoulders and the next I had a number one. Working with over a 1000 people at the time caused a stir.

I'm a baldy and couldn't care less. No1 all over every week for me.

I still look like a sculptured god* and all my friends say I wouldn't look the same with hair now. My missus and girl friends say they couldn't care less and some even find bald men very sexy! Stick that up your arse Brad Pitt! :D

I'm 46 and my hair is apparently ( I can't see the top of my head) fading away.

I have simply told the other half to tell me when it looks daft, at which point it will all come off.
