Baldurs gate enhanced edition 1 & 2 first playthrough

Pah gave up using EET, it says everything works ok. But loading BG2:E and upon selecting new game, it starts the intro and dumps me back to the choice screen again. Can't even select continue for a new character just EXPORT or IMPORT, no continue. So I think I'll stick with BG1E and BG2E, just a ballache.

Failing that, find another RPG :D

If you have non-EE versions of BG1 and 2 there's a similar/same mod for them. From memory it worked well but can't seem to find it. I may still have it installed on my old PC, will fire it up later today and see if I can find it.
I don't own the originals unfortunately, but are you talking about baldur's gate tutu?

On quick google, it seems TuTu might not be what I thought it was, but i came across this http://readme.spellholdstudios.net/BGTReadme.htm
Your probably talking about the BGT mod if your talking the original games. Baldurs Gate Trilogy , Trilogy because it merged BG1 + BG2 and its expansion.

As I recall BG1 never had an "expansion" it was more rather like DLC, Tales of the Sword coast which was just optional content added in the main game. BG2 Shadows of Anm had its own expansion Throne of Baal, making it a Trilogy of 2.1 games or trilogy.

Just to add I would look into getting EEex if your playing the enhanced editions it extends the mod functionality of BGEE games and they can now do things in the game they never could without it such as round timer bars. right click spell menus (Bubbs Spell Menu * requires EEex) and things like that, think there are a lot of cool things still coming out for it. Also I'd get SCS "Sword Coast Stratgems" if its not a first playthrough or if you know what your doing as it will make the gameplay much harder. Also I'd probably get Dragonspear ui++ but i think that requires SOD, and ascension if your planning to play through Throne of Baal. There are tons of mods for the game and some of fan content based ones are so well made I couldn't tell if it was made by beamdog or bioware. Would check out the beamdog modding forums and or Gibberlings3 for sure.

CD Keys has it for £3.19. :)

Edit: Or you can just use the BGT mod (Baldur's Gate Trilogy) to join the two enhanced editions and while ignoring SoD.

I tried that ^ and the damn game keeps showing "IMPORT a character" or "NEW GAME" but it never bloody starts other than the intro and back to selection screen again :p

Installing BG2EE on it's own and I get new game or continue - loads the game fine

Now that BG3 has a release date and the temptation to play it is massive. I decided to give the original ago as BG3 references the previous games and also they are meant to be very good games.

If you enjoyed BG1 / BG2, you may enjoy Pillars of Eternity 2 - Deadfire. It's basically Baldur's Gate but with pirates, wizards n stuff :)

Started playing it today and what was midnight, is now 2am :D

Do party members leave your party if you take too long to carry on with the main quest, I've noticed when I've gone off exploring they make a comment to hurry up.

Just want to add, I've avoided PoE2 since I read a review saying it was turn based. I finally decided to install it on gamepass today to discover it's has the option of real time with pause and turn based.

Spiders are a pain in the ass with that webbed spell that captures everyone, any advice?
Quite a few strategies in BG1 theres probably too many to list so here is few.

In BG1 the webs are traps I don't recall the spiders cast them, maybe Ettercaps might I honestly can't remember? in this level range you can use a thief disable the traps before you start attacking if this is the Cloakwood area.

Warrior / Berserkers kit is stupidly overpowered and is immune to all CC when he is berzerking which includes hold effects (web) and it last quite a while.

Undead Hunter - Paladin Kit is immune to Hold, and Level Drain effects passively.

Mage/Sorc will generally never have any problems with spiders once they get access to level 3 spells and up because they are stupidly strong at the end point of BG1 and strong throughout 2 if you know what spells to take and where to get the scrolls. Sleep is stupidly effective in BG1 also good vs spiders.

There are two items, in BG1 that grant Free action (Immunity to hold) which will make spider encounters a lot easier but I don't want to spoil it for you :P

Have druids and clerics memorize slow poison.

Buy potions of Antidote.
