Ballistix failed again!

This is mad, I've been running Crucial 3200 in my rigs for years, my current vanilla 1GB sticks are running at 260MHz and have been for some time, no problems.

Yet I read quite often the Ballistix fail constantly and are twice the price!

I have used about a dozen stick and these Balliatix are the only ones ever to fail :(
My 2700's ran at 3200 with tight timings and I have a 2 GIG pair of 3200's which will run at 4000 speeds and tight timings?

Just to say a nice word about Crucial, that I received replacement in 4 days. And I am based in Ireland. And now to run mem test again. Looking forward to do that. :Oo
Ok received them on Monday ran test over night ..... 1960 errors. Sent them back to Crucial today.
I briefly spoke with overclockers about my situation. Told them I have a problem with Crucial. Guy asked me immediately PC4000?
I am just surprised that Crucial is still selling these ... how should I put it politely?
Yep I am going to wait for my third set and test them again.

Got mine replaced the other week. Running at DDR528 3,3,3,8 2.8v no problems here. Long may that continue!

From Crucial directly. It was on my 2nd set that died they wanted to send me yet another set but I said enough was enough - gimme me money back! :D
So you must have bought them from Crucial directly. As I bought them from OcUK, Crucial keeps saying, only thing we can do for you is to change piece for piece, no refund from them.

What Ballistix did you buy? I got the Ballistix Tracer which I dont think OC stocked hence why I bought directly from Crucial.

I got Ballistix from OC. No Ballistix Tracer ones.
I have my 3rd set now. Funny enough they`ve given to me loads of erros too. I tried them on friends computer, no prob. there. Tried friends memories on mine PC, no prob either. So as a last chance I just put them in to yellow slots instead orange (there is a whole story about DFI lan party and yellow and orange slots) and IT`s actually passing mem test with no difficulties now. :)

thanx for help to everybody

I`m only putting 2.5v through my ballistix running on 180div, with 2x80mm fans glued together blowing down on the ram. Might be excessive but I read somewhere that the failure with these sticks was due to the pcb heating up too much, not sure how true that is though, but dont wanna take chances.

I have 2x 512MB ballistix PC4000 and they failed last year. About 3 months ago I was getting freezes and random memory errors. They borked again. I don't want another kit but there 2 years old and I bought them from OcUK. I would phone them but... I don't like phoning people lol.

I just returned 2x1GB PC-4000 to Crucial (one of them was definitely dodgy) earlier last week..........I bought them over 18months ago.
I just plopped them mail, got an RMA number, bunged them in the post and new ones should be here tomorrow. I know that this was dealing with Crucial and not OCUK, but as far as I know Crucial will RMA their sticks even if you bought them elsewhere. You just can't get a refund from them unfortunately..

How long does it take for the delivery to arrive from Crucial?

They said it takes 3 - 5 working days but I can't bear to wait that long as they're posting my replacements today :p
