Bambu X1

Well, I wouldn't let that sour the experience. My X1C has been working nearly 24/7 since I got it and I've yet to have a single failed print or any issue at all.
Every print has come out pretty much perfect. My other machines haven't had a look in since getting it.

Glad you're happy with it.
I get the build surface marker error all the damned time. No idea why. Only on the high-temp plate though. The cool-plate is fine.
Had my first failed print yesterday but kind of not. I set the printer going before going to bed and when I came down in the morning it was sat there having printed the first layer with an error on the screen complaining that there was errors in the first layer. I had a look and couldn't see anything wrong so pressed resume and the print completed successfully. I guess I need to wait for the first layer to complete before leaving the machine in future.

I think you're right about the light stopping the lidar from working. I've seen reports of this from people who have stuck LED strips on the top of the machine.

I printed a Y adaptor for the AMS a few days ago so that I can feed a filament from an external spool if needed without disconnecting the AMS bowden tube. Seems to work well and it printed TPU just fine. I didn't bother with the rear spool mount. Just got the additional spool in an Esun drybox thing sat next to the machine.

P1P first impressions are starting the appear on the web now. Looks like a great machine for pretty much everyone. At £699 they are aiming squarely at the Prusa MK3S and I really can't see a good reason to get the Prusa over the P1P now.

I love the AMS. It's a sod un unjam though if you ever get a jam inside it.
For me, I don't care about multi-colour prints. It's all about having 4 materials ready to go for whatever I need to print. My AMS is loaded with PLA, PETG, ABS, and ASA.
