Ban on smoking in the street, Suggested by Leicestershire Council

It also feels like 16 razors going down your throat on every drag, what is appealing to that I will never know
Where you.. y'know, smoking.. razors? I've never smoked razors, but I'd imagine that's what it'd feel like..

There are ashtrays in cars so why do smokers always throw them out of the window?
My new-ish Punto doesn't have an ashtray. You going to start whinging that smokers are making the miles of tarmac on the M6 all messy?

Funny guy :)

I get a nice stabbing, pricking, pointing feeling in my throat if I inhale a cigarette, now, and the first time I tried it.

Surely people experienced something HARSH when they first tried a cigarette? It baffles me to think why people carried on doing it after they're first pull/toke/whatever.

People who have been smoking for several years now, probably have no idea what I'm on about...because once you've had god knows how many, it kinda cancels the feeling out.

To be fair, I think a lot of new cars don't nowadays, due to the while 'not allowed to smoke in company cars' law...Although every person I see driving a company van seems to have they're hand hanging out the window.

They do stink, don't they? Yet I wonder why people smoke them in the first place, I nearly yack when someone who's just had a cigarette walks past me, why you would want to do that to yourself I don't know :p
Umm... yes they do stink, but theres the smell of actual smoke in the air which is what you're whining about and then theres the horrible dank stale ashtray smell that I'm talking about. You non-smokers you wouldn't know the difference but the latter is 1000000x worse smelling than the former.

It also feels like 16 razors going down your throat on every drag, what is appealing to that I will never know, hence why I never started.
What were you smoking... asbestos? Guess you need to know how to inhale properly lol. I've never had that problem not once in my life.

You need to realise that You != Everybody else

Wrong. My first ever cigarette was not like that. Neither was this the case for pretty much all other smokers I personally know.

Edit:

Plus, I see absolutely nothing wrong with throwing cigarette butts on to the road when driving, so long as it doesnt hit another car/person/child (which you'd have to be very retarded and (un)lucky to do!). Also, you know that motorised sweeping noise you hear going past every morning? That's right, that's where the butts end up, along with the dead leaves/litter/misc.other.crap found on the road. Isn't it odd how nobody ever sees a huge pile of cigarette butts on the road, yet people still want to whine about the road being littered? That just makes me laugh. :D

Every morning! never seen a road sweeper around here and the gutters are full of butts.

Good job that everybody isn't so free and easy with their litter or we'd be knee deep in the stuff, the amount of litter on our street/roads already is a disgrace.

The fact you see nothing wrong with it doesn't suprise me at all. :D

I know the difference very well actually, as my mums boyfriend smokes, and so do all of my friends practically.

I can inhale fine, I do not choke or sputter after it, so hey.

Mmm no, I'm going by personal experience, and knowing in excess of probably 40 odd people who smoke.

Fair enough, not everyones throat is the same obviously, So you can honestly tell me the first cigarette you tried, was that amazing, and actually gave you a nice feeling. Then thats fine, each to they're own and what not.

I don't have road sweepers every morning like you, I'm more bothered by the general fag ends in streets, not roads, but both are the same issue, doesn't matter where they are littered...Litter is litter surely.

Yup.. otherwise I wouldn't still be smoking ;)

I burnt my hand on the hob once, and it was really quite unpleasant. I now make sure not to be careless around the hob. If my first cigarette made me feel horrendous, I wouldn't have smoked another!

Debatable...I know people who carried on, as everyone else was doing it...Now they smoke god knows how many! :p

But because I'm not a sheep like most people I know I didn't want to smoke...for some weird reason.

Now they find it funny how I don't smoke as I am pretty much the only person in the group who does not.

I am a smoker, but not a selfish one. I only smoke in areas which are not heavily populated (such as at the back of my work place and in my own home). I would not stand and smoke over someone who was not smoking, at a bus stop for example, I would walk away from them. I throw my butts either down a nearby drain, ashtray or bit, never the floor. As I smoke roll ups as well, they de cay much faster than tailor made one. I would never force a non smoker to breath my smoke. It's my lungs that I may be messing up, not other people's. I dislike selfish smokers

So I'm a sheep.. cheers. I never smoked at school. I never smoked at college. My friends at work never smoked. In my circle of friends, I'm one of the only smokers.

I must be so impressionable, huh? Following everyone around like that to look cool?

Yep :). It's called a nicotine rush, I was stood up at the time and could hardly walk straight for a few minutes!

Might be why I didn't like them, I got a head rush yes...But at the time it just reminded me of collapsing like I used to a few years ago.

I'm more on about the feeling you get in your throat than anything...It really isn't nice to me.

But naturally the more you have, the more you get used to it I guess...a bit like beer / ale respectively.

I personally hate, with all my hate, people that smoke while driving. ESPECIALLY women (or ugly pigs as i like to call the women that do it). I hope that the people that smoke while driving crash and burn to death. They dont deserve to live.
