I've struggled with the title - it was almost 'Bands you wish more people liked' but that might prompt people to say that they didn't want more people at their gigs(!). Anyway, this thread is for bands who you wish more people had heard of, heard, and realised were/are as good as you already know!

The rules are: No more than two bands per person and no more than one song per band (so that's two bands, once song by each ok?)

I'll start off with Ezio. An amazing band who hail from my native Cambridge. They've seemingly been around for years yet I've only discovered them in the past year.

My second choice is a contender for a 'everyone knows a song by them but doesn't know it's by them' - Delays. I realise that they're not everyone's cup of tea given their style and the lead singer's vocal range but they have produced 3/4 fabulous albums in the past 8 years.

@alex: That's my point, they should know that but to tons of people the only bands that spring to mind when you say 'late 90's' are Oasis and Blur.

I rather enjoyed Saturday to be honest, hesitant even to call Moseley Shoals their best album.

I'm a MASSIVE OCS and have been since Britpop #1 in 1995/6 - I bought Moseley Shoals and Everything Must Go by the Manics on the same day. WHAT a day that was! I saw them a year ago touring the Saturday album and they were on fine form - you'll struggle to find such a class live band anywhere...

Anyway these days I guess the mighty 'Scene would qualify for this thread inasmuch as whenever I mention them and their latest album people exclaim surprise that they "didn't realise that they were still going" :( They've done some cracking stuff since Moseley Shoals/100 Mile High City (the big time days) but for consistency nothing will ever match Moseley Shoals.

Time for another one by the OP

1. British Sea Power
Amazing band. First saw them at Truck Festival @ Steventon 2003.

2. The Music
Another amazing band. I've yet to meet anyone who's into their music even slightly who doesn't love this track. Pure indie/rock/dance crossover. Epic indie club tune.
