You dont have to pay a monthly fee for an overdraft on Barclays accounts.
Like I said, that was a seperate issue that could have been dealt with sepertely from the good advice that they gave you re keeping the overdraft.
Again, there are no "sales tactics" around keeping an overdraft, they get nothing for you having it. (and in fact they get nothing for you having any payment protection on it either).
Fair enough if you didnt want it and good to see that the person fixed their mistake, but the point is still correct that you jumped on the "OMG a bank mis sold me something" bandwagon when it is just not the case here, simply someone making a mistake.
For the avoidance of doubt, Barclays do not charge a monhtly fee for an overdraft on personal accounts. Barclays staff do not "sell" overdrafts to people and do not get incentivised in anyway to do so.
