Bank Sort Code 40-20-25

We do it in alphabetical order. My account is Huddersfield 402510 and my current branch is Hartlepool 402338/402348 and Guisborough is 402227 so would be E or F methinks.

The below link is why I'm asking. One of the letters we've recieved is regarding our absentee landlady's financial status. I was just curious as to which branch of HSBC she had fraudulently obtained her mortgage from. It's reached the stage where they are sending solicitors letters now, and I've been in contact with them to tell them about our situation, and given them as much information as we have about her. I also have account numbers etc but I think...I *think*...if they've got any sense, they will have stopped them by now.

What was your old OcUK name? I remember that webaddress and I'm sure you were a regular poster back in the day...

Had a bit of a shock when I saw that !

Ok, as people have said it seems to be the Dartford Branch of HSBC - but its not !

It is the sort code for the Erith branch, which used to be in Erith town centre, but then was closed down - this was prob 3-4 years ago.

The nearest branch, and prb the biggest is Dartford, so all our chequebooks, etc say Dartford on them - however, the sort code has not changed, and is still the erith sort code - 40-20-25. Think the postcode of the branch was DA8 1RJ .

I recognised you from the adamofgreyskull bit too.

There is a large HSBC call centre in Swansea.

I think it might be the case that Erith had the same sort code as Dartford.
 
used to work for HSBC ages ago and was sad enough to remember pretty much all the sort codes for all the branches down the south west region !!! :p

Me too. I've been overdrawn many times yet they've never seen fit to charge me. Their customer services has also been great. On top of that they employ some lovely ladies at the Bolton branch. :)
 
ive had no problems with hsbc either. Only thing that annoys me is there stupid paying in slips which make no sense to me, unlike my other account with abbey where i just give them my card and thats it.

Dartford is 40-19-04, thats where my account has been for ages anyway. Looks like they just moved all the accounts to Dartford when the Erith one shut so it must be quite an old account.
