It's only just over 10 more than what they're offering now if you convert it into pounds. And that would be in the unlikely scenario that they used the entire transfer fund on one player which I doubt. Then there's the small matter of how they are going to pay his wages. Apparently Barcelona want a yes or no answer today on the whole affair.
What matter of how they'll pay his wages, they've offloaded/offloading players that will more than pay for his wages. As for the whole transfer budget, they've already bought Villa, and realistically two big name buys, almost 100million(actually can't remember how much Villa went for). Frankly right now, banks, ridiculousness that is the Spanish league means Barca are in entirely no trouble financially, worst came to the worst, they'd sign a new shirt Sponsor on a 25-30million a year contract, minimum and would take on several other sponsors, realistically, they'll just get loans and debt writen off like Real and like Barca have had happen for decades also.
Not quire sure how you figure a 10million increase in their offer is, somehow insignificant, it wouldn't be.
The fact is that Fabregas is leaving, without question, be it this year, or next. Unlike Ronaldo, who was happy to sign a new big money contract at Utd, because they were winning everything, and the length and value of the contract, and the fact Ronaldo was instrumental in them winning stuff increased his value. Fabregas has no reason to sign a new contract, he's played one of the most influencial roles in a Euro and World cup double winning team, but his club has won smeg all for ages, won't win anything, and he's not just signed a big money long term contract. IE he'll be worth half as much next year.
35-40million now, or 20mil next summer. I obviously think incredibly highly of Fabregas, I'd love for him to see out his career at Arsenal, in reality, I'd take 40million this year over a far lower sum next season. Henry, Vieira, we lost 30mil on those two players keeping both for an entirely unproductive extra year.
