I have a Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA-II drive bought from OCUK last summer that has developed a serious case of bad clusters and data corruption.
I downloaded the WD diagnostics test CD and tried an extended scan and it came back with too many errors to report.

The drive is still in warranty, so what is the next course of action

RMA it to OCUK
Run a low level format to see if that fixes it?

Im unsure what level of troubleshooting is required on a faulty HDD

It was a drive in a home server so Im unsure if I even want to trust it any more :(

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA-II

is it one of the EARS models?

if so, that is exactly the same drive i bought from ocuk last summer too (june time)

anyway, my one died last november, it was giving me more and more errors and then just refused to work at all

i opened an RMA case on the WD website, they gave me a shipping address which i *think* was in the UK, but cant really remember

anyway, i sent it off, they confirmed it was faulty and replaced it with another model

i dont remember what the replacement model was (it was still 2tb) but when i talked to the woman in customer services she said that the model i had was one with three platters and the one being sent out was one with two platters that was meant to be better and fix the issue a lot of people were having with their drives (like the EARS model)

anyway, the new one has been working fine so far, but i still dont trust it - i have bought a 2tb hitachi deskstar and use that as my main drive and use the WD as a backup drive
