Their was a bio's update for Asus striker board because afew video cards were not supported.
Can you not return it btw looks dead if you have the red lights up.

That wouldnt make any difference, if the card is damaged no cooler swap out will help.

Booting a dual gpu card in windows with no cooler on aint the smartest thing to do. I fear that the card is damaged.

I would put in a complaint to paypal and ask for a full refund.
 
Thanks for the comments guys, yes I did pay by Paypal and will now request a refund. I have tried in all the PCIe slots.

I have replaced my old 8800GTX's and the PC is working fine again.

thats not what I meant, wouldn't make a blind bit of difference now. as the damage has been done.

If the seller knew he/she was buying a sued card that had a watercooling block and was going to test it why didn't they fit a air cooler on it?

instead of being blind and used it anyway with no water going to it -.-
 
Just been reading, it looks like I could get the same failure with a duff 8 pin power supply. I'll check them tomorrow.

Hey, that's life, it was a gamble. I also bought a cover for the back of my L200 - that doesn't fit they've sent the wrong one. Plus my Sky+ HD box is playing up!!

I bought a used P5Q-E off the bay which didn't work, was ****ed at myself and the seller, at least it was only £80, I think selling is one thing, but buying 2nd hand high-end parts isn't for me....
 
WOW WOW WOW!!... your not leaving it there are u? If the guy sold it as working then it SHOULD work!! PLEASE dont let this go! Guys like this ruin ebay for people like me/us. People who sell working 2nd hand hardware :( if he wont give u a refund go through paypal! :(
 
He should let you have it aswell, get the water block off it! hate people like that. Don't know how to use the english language either! He sounds like the type of person who would think it doesn't need to be plumbed in and is actually watercooled by itself.

Any anti-static protection included? If theres much point of asking.

The guy probably was rubbing a balloon on his head whilst he was packaging it.

I read the same stuff man, some guy didnt plug in one 8 pin plug and he got the same error. Time to get your volt meter out :)

He seems to know what the led's mean, if he cooked it when he wasn't running it proplerly I would've thought the red led's being lit up like a christmas tree might of told him somethings wrong.

I assume that this card never worked in the first place, i'm still amazed at the stories people on that site come up with to shift broken hardware.

That what worries me buying some thing then it don't work or breaks after a week its a lot of work to sort out.

I don't mind buying second hand stuff say from ocuk as at least you get some warranty.

I would even buy stuff of the MM if don't cost to much :D

But that site never unless its has a proper shop attached to it.
