i had a try at that game and i failed to see what the fuss was about tbh i hated it.

edit: oh i nearly forgot in my list jeane d'arc is a must play for a strategy rpg and easy to get into

edit2: stay away from the ff tactics psp version it suffers from slowdown on certain actions and casting spells but if you have the original ps1 version that works 100% with no slowdown and looks the same minus the fancy cut scenes.
