Only showing piston/valve contact on the inlet valve on one cylinder. Won't know for sure until its been stripped and checked next week but its looking promising so far.
:)

Well, like i say it'll go to the machine shop next weekend...let them sort it out. I just wanted to get home for the 2nd half of the match!!!

i wish i could find deals like this. being 19 i need to find a cheap car to buy run and insure. at the moment it looks like its going to have to be a VW beetle (old)

Being 19 is the problem though mate :(, cheap old thing like this would prolly cost you two grand to insure!!!

Two touched (seems my powers of positive thought failed me!!! :D), one was replaced due to pitting/damage...all bits ready to got for tomorrow...

Why on earth are you looking at beetles!? Horrendous to look at, horrendous to drive plus they aren't exactly cheap for what you get.

If you've got to go with some rusty, old slow classic at least keep it British :). From my first car research a few years ago the Morris Minor owner's club had their own insurance scheme which had people as young as 17 and 18 insured for as little as £300.

As long as you done mind setting the 'But it's old and therefore rubbish' crowd straight Classics are the way to go. I remember having a Triumph Spitfire quote for £900, Dolomite Sprint quote for £1100 and a quote for a 5.3L Jag XJS V12 quote for £1800 odd (baring in mind I was getting quoted more for 1.0L hatchbacks it was like winning the lottery :D). Shame I bottled it and went for something newer :(.

My first year of insurance on my 52 plate 1.2L VW Polo was £1050 for 12 months. I'm still driving this car today but only paying £240 for 12 months now after 5 years no claims. It's not a bad little car actually gets me from A to B and has never had a problem!
