Barn wedding.

That was mine :)

It's one on rotation in my homepage...can't link to it obviously !

Great photo, would be a nice one to try and emulate. It's one of the few I've seen I find thought provoking wondering what the girl is thinking at that moment. is your site under your user name?

It was a nice moment :) I have another a second afterwards where she turned around and smiled at me.

Just google my name and it'll come up top :)

I would post it here but i am not home so no access to the actual jpeg where i am.

Ok I'm not going to flog a dead horse regarding the aircraft, you've obviously got your opinion on that one :)

Not going to comment on all, but these are a few that, in my opinion, could be improved slightly.

Think that would have lent itself perfectly to the horizontal rule of thirds, sky barn, grass. More balanced, no distracting shadows on the grass.

Would have taken a few steps forward, but still used the sides of the white doors as a frame either side. Reflections in the glass are distracting.

A tighter frame whilst composing or crop out the lady on the left. She's distracting from the main subject - the bride to be.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-016.jpg

I like it, but I would crop out the dark section on the far right since it drags the eye to the right.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-018.jpg

Would have been nice to move the camera a few degrees left to get the bridesmaid on the left totally in shot. That would probably have had the effect of removing the mirror with the out of focus clock and the pink towel draped over something in the reflection. Also seems to be leaning to the left - needs straightening slightly and crop the mirror out.

Reflections ruin it. Would have dropped the camera down a little to remove the light and capture more of the dress train.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-028.jpg

Reflections or something in the window obscuring things? Distracting.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-039.jpg

Don't like the bush.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-041.jpg

Think cropping out the table, chairs and umbrella would improve what I think is a nice moment between the Bride and her Dad.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-042.jpg

That blooming bush again - distracting.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-047.jpg

Too much plant and ornate garden chair - makes you look at that first rather than the feet.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-048.jpg

Another great spontaneous moment, but the bush ruins the shot.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-053.jpg

Consider cropping out the second sign on the far right?

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-064.jpg

This is a lovely image, its got a nice natural vignette made by the people standing out of shot, the man on the left however is a little too recognisable as a man standing on the left. Perhaps make the vignette a bit more pronounced to get rid of him.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-071.jpg

Crop out the people to the left.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-086.jpg

Crop out the half a body, arm and glass on the left.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-103.jpg

Distracting foliage - bin.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-119.jpg

Crop in tighter and lose about three quarters of that shot. Top right quarter is the image, but the rest is distracting.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-145.jpg

Pretty lady and a nice image - crop to lose the out of focus person to the left and crop to remove the spiky bits sticking out of the right hand side

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-147.jpg

Blurry bit is too much. Shame since the groom and best man are in the same shot.

http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-150.jpg

Camera needed moving down to capture more of the people.

Not going to comment on any more :)

I think you were restricted a little by what appears to be a narrow barn. I also think that there are too many out of focus coloured blobs in your shots. They work well at the edges framing things, but they're distracting when they take up most of the picture or obscure what should be the main subject of the shot.

Overall, I think you've done a good job at creating a consistently well exposed and coloured balanced set of shots. You've clearly got a good eye. I hope you don't think I've been too critical. As someone said above, it's probably good that you've made people think but hopefully some of the feedback will help as well.

Thanks Dp, that was some pretty good critiquing, and I agree with much of it.

The ones regarding walking down the isle. You may not realise but there was in fact a large bench and bush blocking me. I could crop closer I guess, but I would lose the blue sky or people. No blues were harmed btw and the sky was that colour.

This one though is actually one of my favourites. I love the purple hue, and deliberately shot through it to add a splash of colour.

I think I would be OK with the purple if it was off in the corners/edges. It kind of dominates for me and is distracting as it partially obscures the subject.

For example, in this photo the foliage blur is working well to give peripheral interest and framing, highlighting the subject nicely:

This photo is a good example where OOF foreground elements are working to frame the subject. The 2 people are forming frame edges and are not isolated but clipped emphasizing that the edge effect.

this one would be Ok with a slight crop from the left
http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Caswell_House_Wedding-064.jpg

But here the guy is isolated and just looks to be in the way of the photo, it isn't framing the subject for me

Anyway, as I dai there are plenty of great photos and the set overall is fantastic. i'm just picking out the photos that I personally don't think work
