Big scandal today. Buh bye BBC! Their Panorama interview with Diana where she said this

has been the subject of a cover up. Martin Bashir, he of the Michael Jackson interview, had faked bank statements to secure the interview with Diana. And today, Prince William made a damning statement.

Very naughty boy. The BBC have also come out of it covered in crap. Not only did they know but they covered it up?! Tut tut.

Does it even matter? The press in this country are the scummiest of scum, yet nobody cares so it never has any incentive to not be scummy.

They are all overrated anyway, they talk trash and act like trash but they have a powerful platform so they can make it look all sophisticated and royal. But when you break most of it down it's just trash. The Queen has some class though, I think.

I find it a bit funny that the world sorta falls out of love with the Royals, particularly William & Harry seemingly after the Harry & Meghan interview then we get this story & instantly people are fauning over them again, the hard-done to royals, evil press etc etc.

Ridiculous. Diana was attention seeking in this interview and having affairs with a multitude of lovers while Charles obviously had his Camilla affair. Even before the break up Diana used sneak lovers into the palace. Is Harry even Charles son, doesn't look like him. Bashir's bank statements aren't fixing that relationship sunshine.

I wonder how many of the people involved are still working there (in perhaps senior positions), ditto to the paedophile scandal at the BBC, they all played dumb ti seemed - general muttering that the likes of Saville was a bit of a wrong un and seemingly simultaneously loads of people knew about it yet most individuals claim that they themselves had no knowledge of what was happening at the time.

Well it does when it's the BBC (or indeed a TV station in general), less so for newspapers. The BBC is both state-owned and has a public service remit and TV stations in general are more tightly controlled, only limited slots for terrestrial TV etc..

If a tabloid paper wants to use dirty trick to get interviews then that's perhaps a bit different, the BBC should have higher standards.

As others have said, if they came through the Saville episode unscathed I doubt this will have any lasting consequences.

I wonder what else the BBC is covering up.

We already know they protect criminals and run an extortion racket. Now they do fraud as well. They are basically the Mafia.
