Basic Plumbing Question

Brand new washing machine. Samsung series 5+ WW80T554DAN/S1

Unfortunately I was away with work when it got put in so I'm not 100% sure what was done. Pretty sure the hose is how it comes though. You can get the exact same replacement part with what appears to be the same black bit.

Yeah I know it's annoying. I have been on YouTube looking at various Samsung washing machine installation videos and none of them have that connection.
 
OK I think I may have solved it. Basically after I took the last set of pictures I moved the jubilee clips slightly when I put it back on. I put the left hand clip on the other side of the lip on the black connector. I just ran a cycle and no leaks. Will keep an eye on it but hopefully its ok now...
