Batman: Arkham Asylum

first impressions ; very polished with superb graphics .. all maxed with PhysX at highest and it runs silky smooth .. the animations and overall graphics are excellent.

gameplay is quite fun and the controls are great with mouse+keyboard, quite fluid..

better than i thought it would be, the Joker is really funny and throws some witty insults and provides some commentary whilst your flapping about :)
also the character Bio's have some interesting info and the Jokers interviews that you can listen to are a nice touch ..

Has to be one of the best demo's I have ever played. Very polished, flowing, superb movement and control. I am slightly worried about the length oft he game though. If it weighs in at about 8hours I will be happy.

gunna download this when I get home tonight.

does look good. Will reserve judgement till later on once I have played it :)

Superb looking and best UT3 engined title yet. Shows you how poor Epic are with their own engine when Rocksteady (who??exactly!!!) can create this beauty. Controls are flawless and very smooth FPS with max detail. I think this will be a surprise to many and big hit.

PC version is delayed until 18th Sept (same day as RE5 & Red Faction Guerrilla!!) to implement the PhysX and Nvidia optimisation.

Is the combat as slow and clunky looking as it seemed in the trailer?

I have to retract my previous question after playing it on my bro's PS3, very smooth combat.

I'm interested in the "detective" stuff the end of the demo hints towards, hopefully some genuinely good puzzles to mix it up with the stealth and punching.

I just hope the game doesn't fall into the trap of: Big room full of enemies to be taken out one by one, big room with a boss, big room with a brawl - rinse and repeat.

Can anyone who's played with physX confirm what effects have been added?

Wow this demo was great, played it twice as it was kinda short but it gave you everything you wanted to know about the game. Im Sold...

If you don't have a Nvidia graphics card it wont turn on the PhysX stuff. The same goes for multisampling. One of the best features for me, although it is little, is the seem less integration of both Xbox controller and keyboard. On the menu it automatically changes all the controls i.e. A button and left click depending on which you are using. Just shows a bit of thought for the pc gamers.

Nice, ;)
I've been looking @ Nvidia cards but just I see ATI pushing out all these cheap 4890's etc and its so hard to ignore! haha

Downloaded it now, let's see how it goes!

just gave it a shot - its very impressive. Partly, I wanted to see what a modern game would do to my new 275 - glad to say it did very well. The graphics are very impressive - and the atmosphere.

The camera might get a little off-putting when under stress but I found myself sneaking about a lot, so it didn't matter.

I liked the detective mode. Very easy to get into. Oh, and I think I may be in love with Harley Quinn.

The demo left me wanting more, but I don't know if I'll be ordering it before looking at some more reviews of the full game. The demo seemed a bit easy, and I don't play games hardly at all anymore - and I'd hope there were a few hours to it. Nice work though.

Just before the bit when you have to knock someone out just after you get the grappling hook, there is a vent at the top of the stairs. Is anyone able to get into it?
