Batman Arkham City - Thread

Got a really strange problem with the game which I bought through Steam. There seams to be no voices at all during in game cutscenes. The 1st occurrence is when I open the safe in the 1st scene. Then in the next bit with Hugo Strange there is still no voices at all. The movies run perfect and I can here characters during the 1st fight sequence. Any ideas guys?

PS tried in both DX9 and 11

480GTX 1.5gb
8Gb RAM
AMD 965 Phenom II 3.4Ghz

I had same problem in Arkham Asylum. Did a bit research and found a cure. Had to delete a config file prior to playing the game each time.

The file was bmengine and was found in documents > square enix > batman arkham asylum GOTY > bmgame > config

Have just checked and file is also there in Arkham City, so may solve your troubles, although not ideal having to delete a file each time.

File is located in Documents > WB Games > Batman Arkham City > BmGame > Config

first time to play any of the batman series and i must say im enjoying it:)
got free with graphics card!!
runs perfectly smooth and not glitches yet
 
What in ***** name is this **** windows live crap? I mean I just want to play the game, Not make a ******* account on windows ***** live!

Argh, I don't know why but this has ****** me of something rotten!

I see no problem with it, arkham asylum was also a games for windows title
 
As everyone is finding out

DX11, 6048x1200, highest settings, average 25fps, GPU usage = 45%, drops to 0
DX9, 6048x1200, highest settings, average 76fps, GPU usage = 85%

But I cannot see any real difference between the DX9 and DX11 settings :)

Haven't started the game yet due to Mrs being over (:() but will have a look tomorrow

Thanks for the reply but still no luck. I played a little further and there is no voices at all after I open the safe with Catwoman. The game itself runs smooth but no voices at all. Just footsteps and other sound effects work...
 
I'm detoxing from this today, dreamed about Batman all night :D

Also the pain in the small of my back is driving me nuts...damn you desktop PC!!

but it wasn't as annoying then. it's also absolutely, utterly pointless and doesn't add a single damn thing to the game.

achievements? if i gave a carp about them i'd play on my xbox. :o
