Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

How on earth was Origins terribad? So was City by that logic.
There is not enough time to tell you exactly how other than the following:

1: Appalling bland gfx. Poster boy for PhysX yet it could/should run happily on any brand low end GPU as the gfx are so poor.
2: Bland generic boring missions.
3: Cut n pasted from the other Arkham games but ruined challenges by changing the camera angle.
4: Entire game resues the same sequence scripts from the other Arkham games but somehow succeeds in making it seem very poor.

The entire game was just a cynical ploy to plug the gap between the proper Batman games from Rocksteady & lets not even go there that WB decided to make DLC instead of fixing the game breaking bugs.

Arkham City at least gave you some interesting variations (from AA) but that's almost 3 years old now anyway & on recent GPU's its a different game as the FPS even with DX11 is very smooth & changes the gameplay as even City gliding from start to finish is smooth & flawless.

AA is the only good game in the series. The other two are abominations that have some of the worst issues I've seen in a PC game to date. AC had completely broken DX11 integration that made it unplayable and it was never fixed. AO isn't much better in that regard and the studio has already said that they cba to fix it and just want to make more DLC for the suckers to buy.

I won't be buying anything made by that studio again.
Blame Nvidia for wanting to sell more GPU's  the game now runs flawlessly on a GTX780Ti with maxxed out DX11 & full PhysX rarely drops below 60FPS & feels like a different game as its so smooth & playable.

Arkham Knight must be using Unreal Engine 4 :D as its only for PC & PS4/XB1 that FMV looks like it came from UT4 engine as well.

These games have been very good. But performance and bug wise on the PC they have been less than.
Thank Nvidia dirty optimisation tricks to sell more GPU's for that  Arkham City on a single GTX 780 Ti plays @ 60FPS 1920x1200 with maxxed out everything DX11, PhysX the whole lot & looks plays like a different game to the DX9 version due to how smooth it is. So smooth & looks a fair bit better with extra gfx from the PhysX on doorways & debris, smoke, mist, coloured lighting, sparks & extra lens flares etc etc.

Arkham Knight in that latest trailer does not look much more than a slightly prettier Arkham City its still using Unreal Engine 3.9 or something they just upped the detail in DX11 & Rocksteady modded the engine a bit to suit their needs but even though its a much bigger game world I hope its not just a hybrid nextgen game as it uses a dated hybrid DX11 game engine & is still built for PS4/XB1 before PC

At least its still 2014 as DC comics mistakenly announced it was pushed back to 2015 a few weeks ago at their own convention !

Im complaining how bad it is on a Nvidia card! :p

In fairness it was fine on one 670, but when I added a second.... hitching/stutter etc... :(
Must be the SLI profile its a different game on a single GTX 780 Ti with maxxed everything out so smooth/playable with full DX11 + PhysX. Even a single GTX 780 is not quite enough @ 1920x1200 but Ti is a much better experience overall.

Nvidia were playing naughty games methinks they tampered with the code when they spent a few weeks in N London onsite @ Rocksteady back in Feb 2011 in an effort to fix performance I think they just optimised it more towards their high end GPU's ;)

Must just be me but I do not see the as many polygons as Arkham Asylum entire gameworld in that batmobile

June 2015 the PC better launch at the same time this would have been in development for almost 4 years by then

June is a strange time to launch a highly anticipated game though, probably to tie into the new movie.

Awesome trailer.

Are they still using unreal 3.0 though? I was hoping for some next gen goodness for this :(.

Should have used unreal 4.
Unreal 3.9 or something heavily customised but still something the PC could have done about 5 years ago if this series was not held back by the poxy consoles!

I was going buy origins but think ill hold off for this havent had a batman game on PC yet
Origins is by far the worse game in the series

Just buy Arkham Asylum see if you like that then try Arkham City afterwards if you do as its larger but a slightly lesser overall experience.

Origins BTW is shovelware IMO avoid unless its £3.74 for all content & even then after Asylum + City you will have experienced the same game only 10 times better!

I played aslyum on the xbox before I got a Gaming Pc. Only played it for a few hours though but from the time I spent playing I enjoyed it.
PC version is way better I also own Asylum on the Xbox 360 its nice but PC is so much better:

Smooth & higher FPS so combat is much more fluid.

PC has PhysX if you have an Nvidia GPU this adds smoke, debris & a few doorway items which add a lot of atmosphere & additional layers of graphical complexity to some ingame scenes.

PC also comes with the 4 extra challenge maps if you buy the GOTY edition.

Aren't PC already 1080p?

I'm not too bothered about the delay, gives me more time for The Witcher 3
Yep & way higher I play mine @ 2560x1080 nowadays looks great but you have to assume it will be ported over to the newer modded Unreal Engine 3.9 Rocksteady are working with for Arkham Knight which has nextgen gfx if they are remastering no point just upping the res for these is there ;)
