Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

Before the patch I had flawless FPS After the patch its stuttering :eek:

I fixed myself though you have to do the following to tweak the Texture Streaming values (this is all I did since day 1 BTW to enjoy stutter free gaming since it came out in June :rolleyes:).

Do this:
1: Find on your PC:
\Program Files\%YOUR STEAM LIBRARY%\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\BMGame\Config

2: Backup BmEngine.ini now search in that file for the following section:
[TextureStreaming]
MinTextureResidentMipCount=8
PoolSize=1024
MemoryMargin=128

Change:
PoolSize=2048
MemoryMargin=256

Save the file & it should stream all ingame textures very smoothly with no stuttering. All Gameworks settings except Enhanced Rain still cause stutter @ 4K.
 
Just a headsup up if you have the global CDkey activated (Nvidia code is global) on your Steam account you can buy & play the Harley Quinn Story DLC now from here for about 24p (£2.20 if you want G2A shield guarantee & pay the VAT as your supposed to!). Only about 5 rooms but still ok content for the low price its a pre-order bonus from some retailors now being sold as DLC outside the Steam store but activates on Steam just fine.

AFAIK yes it will let you download & play right now. The game is just not on sale on Steam you can buy elsewhere they are still selling the keys (CDkeys is cheaper BTW).

This is down to Steams refund policy WB lose money on every refund so are not putting back on Steam until its had another patch even though its very playable right now some are still having minor issues :rolleyes:

The game has been playable for over 100 hours for me since day 1 IMO its OTT to not sell it for almost 3 months as its in a much better state than many other recent open world games the bugs are minor its mainly FPS are low on mid range hardware.

They just charge less as the keys are usually bought in bulk cheaply in another Steam region then legally sold to anyone who buys from their website. Until Valve region lock every Steam key its technically allowed even if its a grey area.
 
DLC strategy on this is a joke (leaving aside all PC DLC is still unreleased) all it appears to be is a constant stream of different characters on existing challenge maps & or new vehicles for a couple of new racing tracks......and thats about it for the amount they charged on the season pass this is such a rip-off :(

Given they demanded a full price season pass its a slight surprise they are passing this off as the season pass content :eek:

From what I can gather the only sizeable DLC is Catwomen & that's developed by WB Canada (same team as Origins). I am glad Rocksteady are done with Arkham series now their DLC has always been very weak :(

I got the main game free with my GTX 980 Ti & paid full price for the season pass on Steam when it was discounted to only £32. Yet I still feel the season pass content is a little lacking value for money now its been revealed as just a few challenge maps/characters/vehicles for £70 odd full price on Steam thats silly :rolleyes:

Base game though is superb & looks amazing @4K. I'm glad more people are realising this its such a shame the game has been in this state since the patch in June (highly playable) but because of the Steam refund process withdrawn from sale still thats also silly the game is way more stable than many other games were on release or even after patching!

Relaunches for purchase on Steam & will be fully patched for existing owners on PC 28th October with all the available DLC for season pass holders.

Fair play to Rocksteady/WB they just announced on Steam are giving away free digital copies of the entire Batman Arkham library (Asylum GOTY, City GOTY, Origins, Blackgate & Arkham Knight DLC Community Challenge 2 to existing Knight owners or anyone who buys before 16th Nov 2015.

Does not affect me I already own all those games but a good deal to new buyers existing owners I guess.

Some of the season pass DLC is not too bad very brief though still not worth the cost (4 small DLC episodes along with the extra challenges & cars,tracks,characters).

Best thing so far of the season pass content is the extra challenge race tracks including the 1960s TV series theme tune & 1989 Tim Burton movie music is a nice touch :D
 
Catgirl DLC is very atmospheric (not made by Rocksteady either its WB Montreal same team as Origins).

Smooth FPS still needs a very powerful rig for above 1080 full maxed out. Also Win 10 with 12Gb Ram is the best config according to WB for smooth gameplay with no pagefile access.

Win 7 with some GPU's stutters a bit still they are working on that & SLI/Crossfire configs now as well as updated gfx card drivers with the vendors apparently.

I found the game slightly smoother than before but I have put in about 120 hours since June never really had many problems once I adjusted the ini for more streaming memory (default it only 1024 2048 is much smoother).

Exit the game then Steam will Download 7.5-8.5GB of DLC. Unless you have not completed the main game yet in which case some DLC is not available.

For me after the 2.3GB patch I then had to exit Steam for it to download the DLC I did not already have in my season pass. But I have been playing since June with no real issues perhaps my game was more up to date.

All season pass DLC released to date is now in my menus & playable. Some is under episodes (should be 4 entries there) the rest is in the challenges menu under each section you get some new content.
