*** Battlefield 1 ***

Hazard go snitch to whoever it is that you snitch to so the first person who pre orders this game gets their forum rank is changed to "EA's slave" along with a 'suitable' avatar.

TBH I don't think that is a particularly pleasant or respectful attitude. I consider it to be a personal attack.

I will probably pre-order tbh, it's the only game I've really been looking forward too.

Had almost 900h in BF4 so will no doubt get more more than my money worth. Will defo be holding off until much closer to release before I even think about it though.

Hopefully some of us get the beta access and be able to give it a good test.

After BF3 I swore I wouldn't go back. Managed to skip BF4 and Hardline, but this may do the trick. Galloping towards a trench with a sabre flashing in the sun as biplanes come swooping in is too damn tempting!

Good news about the server browser

Sounds very similar to how the pre-order of Hardline and battlefront were justified, did you put the same amount of playtime into those as you did BF4?

and I appear to have ruffled somebodys feathers

I didn't pre-order HL or SWBF. Bought them both just after release. *I still blame Kiwi for HL and Chippy for SWBF

I never justified those purchases, I admit with those 2 games I made a mistake buying them.

Same for me... but still not a pre-order. I will wait until gameplay reviews...

Doubtful BF1 will be anything like hardline, I think they'll ace this one including the release, everything so far the launch the era and twitter replies just has an air of effort about it. Must have been quite hard work for them to go from modern warfare in BC/2 bf3/4 and Starwars to go all the way back in time again. We'll soon see I suppose.

Hardline isn't really that much different to BF 4, it is just a different skin with slightly adjusted mechanics. It should have been what vietnam was to BC 2 i.e. a DLC pack.

Don't get caught up in their social media PR either, like all companies, they will be putting on a good image to get as many pre-orders as possible.

As noted above, that could all change come final release, if the final version ends up being a mess, we won't hear or see anything from them for 4-6 months again :p

Fixed ;) :p

The annoying thing is, those games had/have so much potential still, they could have easily adjusted a lot of the game breaking stuff for us with only a few minor changes.

That's not really fair, although I never had any problems with bf4 launch at all I saw many others did, however they readily released patches quite quickly for the first 3-6months, although most of the times they fixed one thing and created 2 more problems which I fell victim to a couple of times, they didn't just disappear.

There was a large gap for bf 4 fixes at the start, at least the ones, which we needed the most as there were quite a few youtuber videos on those issues and why the silence from dice, iirc anderzel said it was something to do with holiday time in Sweden where everyone gets something like 6 weeks off.

EDIT:

I believe they fixed the servers crashing fairly quick within the first few weeks though.

Still it was very frustrating going from the beta after the wonder patch that ran beautifully, great netcode & hit reg. etc. to the final release where it took about 6 months to get netcode & hit reg. as good as the beta again.

£64!!!!! DICE/EA...you can go do one!!!

Although i do feel a lot of games these days are a ripoff and totally overpriced,Its the opposite when it comes to Battlefield.

You definitely get your moneys worth,Im not sure on the Deluxe edition benefits though,Im wondering if the "red baron pack" is unlockable anyway in the standard version or if its something you absolutely have to buy to be able to use...if its the latter that isn't great as it should already be in the game to start with.

Im going to hold off buying it for now,Lets see what the Beta looks like..not sure if i should go PC or PS4 this time.

The last game I paid full price for was Division. £45 for the Gold edn, it's probably the reason I feel compelled to play the game even though it has a lot of problems so I feel like I've got value for money.

I can chalk up £20 if a game is bad but I will be treading carefully with BF1 based on past history. If the beta is awesomesauce then I will buy the game probably on release day but until then Tony can post the best deals in the OP as £65 is a lot. :p
