If you're squadded up with friends/squad knows what they're doing its nothing like CoD. You should have played the console versions of the last two.
As for the worst BF - well, subjective. Prefer this one to mortar spam at the start of the level followed by shooty-down-tunnel.

This game has surprised me how much I've played it and yet still want to play it, I really thought I would have got bored by now. Have they nerfed the A-10 a bit? I'm sure it's not as good as a few weeks ago.

I thought I would have rage quit this by now, but I'm starting to enjoy it more. There's definitely parts of a great game struggling to get out here..

Except..
-Lack of players, especially for the Vietnam expansion which is the best bit
-Completely broken friends system
-Imbalance between air and ground vehicles after the tracer velocity was nerfed
-No strafe run or prone.

Still there's a lot good about bc2. Needs a remake IMO.

It desperately needed the normal rented servers from launch. Not certain how many old clans will rent servers (if they fix them) when the game is 6 months plus old.

I still enjoy it as there is usually at least a squad of mates playing on a night which makes it fun. Not a game to lone wolf as that becomes beyond frustrating.

I still makes my **** boil how EA have let the PC gaming community down with regards to the servers.

You can't get a decent game now without such toxic views and comments which, on decently run servers, would have been stamped out very quickly.

An apology and 180 degree turnaround on the server policy would go a long way. :)

Yep its going to kill the game long term but my synical side thinks thats probably what they want.

If the next big DLC/Patch doesnt introduce Admin tools then I think they probably never will.
 
BF3, 4 and Hardline DLCs cost £12 each on launch. I would guess that BF1 will be the same.

Paid map packs need to die a death fast. It's just gonna fragment the player base and communities. Like it has done for the last decade.
 
I keep diving back into this every few weeks or so, hoping that this time it will be an engaging experience, that this time it will be more than graphics and sounds.

And it always, nearly always, so very not always isn't. Why?

Because for some reason my hit detection is just random. One round I am decent enough 1:1 ration (I am not that good and know my skills). Next round, same server, same people, same guns, I get slayed, and can't kill a thing. I see me shooting, i see the blood, i see the shots registering, but nope, no kills and one death shots.

I know it isn't my setup, or equipment as BF4 runs like a dream as do every other game, but I am on higher hz servers on BF4.

If that ever gets fixed, i will be in BF1 heaven - until then, I will be in a minority and suffer death to the point of stopping for a few weeks cos who likes to die inconsistently

Oh well, roll on BF5 / Battleforce 2/3/4 whatever :)
 
thats the same problem i have too.

its so annoying that some rounds are ok and other just end up being so maddening.

I've observed this behavior in every BF since BC2 (also in battlefront). It seems to be very minor in BF3/4 though (Dusting with tank shells and TOWs is where you notice it most).

I'm sure it's lag..
 
Battlefield 1 - Latency Variation

Having Latency Variation/High Latency issues when playing BF1 on the PC with the yellow warning icon flashing up every couple of minutes. It rarely turns to severe. It appears to happen fairly randomly and I can't pinpoint the issue. I've already forwarded the relevant ports which made no difference (may have actually made the problem slightly worse). FPS runs fairly constantly at 60fps on high/ultra settings.

My internet is Ethernet via a wall socket powerline device which is in truth quite old (5-6 years). Internet speeds are around 18mb down and 5mb up. Every other game I play online runs fine.

The game is installed on a HDD, I do have an SSD which I could install the game on but not sure if that would solve the issue.

PC Specs:

CPU: i7 4770 oc to 4.4Mhz
RAM: 16Gb Corsair SSR3 @ 2400
GFX: Msi R9 390 8gb
MB: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Series

Does anyone have any ideas or has had a similar problem and fixed it?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
 
do you actually have noticeable issues in game too? I read that most people just ignore the latency icons and turn them off in options, I had it regularly but it actually played fine
