I had similar issues with stuttering after the creators update.. Going to Settings->Gaming-> and turning everything off in all 3 categories(Game bar, Game DVR, Game Mode) fixed my stuttering issues on my 1080ti.
 
Not impressed with the new expansion.. not at all. Now granted only played 2 maps so fare but one of them was the SPAM Central Cathedral map and man it got boring fast.

Yup, nothing but a ******* rainstorm of grenades. If there's ever a map that needs grenades disabled entirely, this is it.

I wonder if there's actual statistics internal to dice for grenade kills, it probably outdoes any other infantry weapon by a factor of 50.

Sinai looks incredibly bright..and my monitor doesn't have hdr (asus pg348q), presumably even without hdr some settings in the games code have been changed that shows a difference to some extent on standard monitors.

Servers are badly lagging atm :(

Haha maybe my drivers are screwed then - everything looked slightly blury, like I was using 3d without the glasses or something. My monitor doesn't have HDR so I turned it off, can't tell if it's helped or I'm just going mad.
 
Strange, I thought HDR would be disabled unless the display switched to HDR mode?

Soon as I booted up BF1 I found it insanely strange that my display switched into full HDR and sure enough the setting was on auto. No on or off? Just off or auto? bit silly, Perhaps its broken.

Disabling it in game makes the game pause for a few seconds before it turns off. Does seem a bit odd its enabled for displays without the tech.
 
Dont play CTE so find it very frustration that nothing is explained with how to unlock stuff. For the specializations its saying I need to do 3 of the 5 "getting started" assignments. What are they?

Are they the 5 things that are on the map loading screen?

This is a required update for all Battlefield 1 players to play online. The following fixes will apply to all Battlefield 1 players.

SERVICE ASSIGNMENTS AND SPECIALIZATIONS

Prepare for battle like never before with the Specialization system. New customization options will allow you to enhance your effectiveness on the battlefield and tweak your soldier to explore new ways to play. All players will start with a set of basic Specializations and many more can be unlocked by completing Service Assignments.

Service Assignments are a new set of challenges that will test your mettle as a soldier. Show that you’ve got what it takes with the “Getting Started” assignments before moving on to the more difficult “Staying Focused” challenges. Will you pick one kit and master it, or complete them all and become a jack of all trades?

HDR10 SUPPORT

  • Added support for HDR10. With HDR (High Dynamic Range), the visuals of Battlefield 1 will be even more breathtaking for owners of the required tech (a screen with HDR support together with a console/PC with HDR capabilities.) HDR expands the contrast ratio and color palette to offer more realistic, immersive, and natural visuals.
PERSISTENCE

  • Fixed issue where the Origin Access dog tag was not being unlocked when subscribed to Origin Access.
  • Added Service Assignments and Specializations.
UI

  • Fixed issue where the wrong rank icon was displayed on the Kill Card for Rank 110.
  • Fixed issue where some weapons were not being fully customizable from the front end.
  • Replaced shortcuts on Home Screen with dynamic Battlepacks and Service Assignments widgets.
  • The name filter now trims empty filter texts in the Server Browser.
  • Game servers with custom configuration are now designated as CUSTOM in the Server Browser.
  • Fixed issue accessing Options menu after leaving the server queue.
  • Fixed an issue in the End of Round screen where all Class Rank icons were gold instead of the corresponding Gold, Silver, or Bronze Rank value.
VEHICLES

  • Bombers should no longer take multiple damage pings from a single bullet.
  • Changes to stationary weapon repair and respawn - if not repaired for two minutes, the QF1 AA, FK96 Field Gun, and 305/52 O Coastal Gun will be restored to full health. Players can still use a repair tool to get them back into action faster.
  • Fixed issue where dismounting a horse while it was jumping would cause it to get stuck in the jump animation.
WEAPONS & GADGETS

  • Fixed issue where it was possible to spawn with duplicate gadgets.
MAPS & MODES

  • Fixed collision on staircase in Fort de Vaux to allow players to climb them while prone.
  • The Best Squad screen will now appear after an operation is completed.
  • Fixed issue where character models would appear blurry in the Best Squad screen.
  • Improved loading of the Customize Soldier screen on the main menu.
  • Fixed issue where the kill card would sometimes not show while spectating other players.
NETCODE

  • Fixed display conditions for latency variation icon.
  • Improved server-side player latency stability.
RSP

  • Increased RSP map rotation limit from 15 to 24

What your talking about is medal. I never bother really.

If you want to know how to unlock the new weapons, pick your class and your see some weapons are disabled. Read the description for instructions on what you have to do to unlock them.
 
im a bit confused about DLC in this game. Why do the servers say 'premium early access'.... when DLC to my knowledge is only available to people who paid for it. Who else is going to have access to them besides premium users ?

You can buy the DLC separately or buy the whole thing which I think is deemed 'Premium'.
 
New maps are pretty "meh" imo. Only played a few but they seem very infantry centric, and that bores the hell out of me. With the exception of the Kiera Knightly map (flat) that has some vehicles its just an infantry grenade spam fest so far.

That assault truck is weird, the main cannon is on the back so you're almost better driving it around backwards.

Just seems dumb that for the russian maps you're limited to the arty truck, the assault truck and the landship, and in some maps you don't even get the landship option. Don't see why they just don't chuck all the vehicles into the maps like what they've done with the french dlc. If they're trying for some semblance of authenticity while at the same time having a ton of weapons in the game that never seen actual ww1 use (some never even appeared until after the war) then it seems to be a bit of a stupid decision.
