It takes seconds to take out an AA site with your cannon before you do a bombing run, if you think that’s strange then fair enough, I like to make sure there is no AA near me when I go down for a bombing run. Where did I mention anything about empty tanks?
 
This patch was much needed. The game shouldn't let you "stay in the air rounds at a time." And of course the people that did do that are going to cry, and some from the sounds of it, quit. Thats ok, I am sure people quit when copters and planes were overpowered.

I am sure the people in planes and coptors will figure a way around this. If you can get hit twice fast, and they have to reload, why dont you go land and repair? That is the way it should be, not you being invincible. And attack coptors shouldnt be able to stay up for rounds at a time, they should be able to be shotdown by handheld rpgs. I think that would be unbalanced, so compromising on having to find an AA is allright.

Also, has anyone tried flying with a partner in formation? That would be kind of cool, if they AA would miss you if you split at the last second.
 
is everyone using the step patch or the full thing? getting slow d/l's off the ea site just on the 89MB step patch!

I think the choppers should be made harder to fly, not easier to shoot down, remember how hard they were in desert combat? that what they should be like.

All of this because people were whining about getting bombed. I realise the irony of this post, but what the hell was wrong with things before? AA has become point/click. Missiles do acrobatics unseen before. Flares are nothing more than a way to decorate the sky before you explode.

Now going in the sky is worthless. You'll never live. To hell with that. The game really has earned the name of battlefield. You'd be a fool to fly above the field now. If someone has a clue on how to survive in the air, then I urge them to share with me.

i like the 1.2 patch a lot, and i play battlefield a **** load, i can still go 40-1 in an attack chopper flying alone swithcing between seats, avoiding flares etc. although it is at least 50% harder than before but its achievable with enough experience

imo the infantry game has become a damn site better, less 203ing, no c4 whoring, no prone jumping/hopping - i dont see why people have such a big problem with this patch, if youd played as many clanwars on 1.12 as i had, youd be sighing in relief at the release of 1.2, its a success in many ways, although it has bugs obviously.

this has breathed live back into the game afaic

instead of doing that old trick, take a copilot and you will be shot down way more :rolleyes:

have done that too, im usually the gunner in that situation, and my pilot is very very good, and he stays alive in 1.2 for long durations. :)

AA is not being used against you much then, if it is then theyre firing while your flaring and not waiting.
 
its still possible to dolphin dive, I never used to do it myself anyway but while playing just now I discovered it by accident, there is a way to get up from prone quickly, the dolphins are gonna love this,

Empty AA. Linebackers, etc.

With your cannon? I don't think so. You would use your cannons on the stingers, your bombs on the linebackers, and then you may as well go home, having killed no one.
 
I love how the jet whores are complaining. You've spoiled the game for the rest of us since it came out with your constant base bombing and refusal to fight other planes so you can pick on easy ground targets. Almost every map featuring planes had two or three people at the top of the chart with 30-40 kills to maybe 1 death and you say that the balance is only messsed up now?
If only they can find a way to stop people running off from bases with the transports (with only themselves in it) and make people use the squads better then the game will be perfectly balanced.

I never used to reach top spot in a whole round of aircraft use. I was usually in the middle of my team, with say 20-25 kills and a couple deaths, if the opposing air force didn't have too many effective pilots. It was the part of the game I enjoyed, however.

I’m merely stating a tactic that works for me, I don’t care if you agree/disagree. And as a side note linebackers don’t have very heavy armour and don’t last long against jets cannon, so yes they are easy to take out. It’s not like they are particularly common anyway.

And no, I don’t go home without killing anything.
