shauncr91 m8 you are running it as Admin mode ?

Right click BF2 icon on desktop and select ' Run as Administrator '

Yes I've tried admin mode, and have also tried compatability mode, and different video drivers. Still the same thing every time

I add ' +restart' to the command line which disables the intro vid and skips straight to the log-in splash screen saving valuable RAM and load time!

My 5 pennies worth for this top online shooter!

I loved it when BF2 was less than a year old and my dual core rig would own. I would be loaded and in a nice sniping spot before half the players had even started

Now I have a mouse with adjustable sensitivity (Logitech G5), 24inch screen and a gaming mouse mat. Loads of headshots

If I have not played for a few months I get very rusty. I sometimes get annoyed when people blame me for stepping on a very easy to see mine but it is still a top game. Much better than BF2142.

I think that COD4 seemed to have killed it off in many ways, but you cannot deny that BF2 has the gameplay that beats most other games hands down.

I love playing the game and its installed on 4 of my PCs right now, but I kind of stopped playing it cos my kids now beat me... Funny that but thats why I stopped playing UT too! ( Miserable git that I am )

I've played it since day of release & still play it daily, Loads of servers up & loads of Proper squad play.
64 man Infantry only BF2 servers are my online gaming heaven

Same here, player since its release.

Large maps only, 64 player servers = bliss.

Hope to be in the same situation some day. Thought cod4 was good online but never got round to the very small maps and easyness of the ranking system, Which is one of the reasons why bf2 is so great come on 400hrs in tank any1.

Great game I just have one gripe about it; I wish EA concentrated on this game before moving to 2142, because this game, amazing as its gameplay already is, still has bucketloads of potential.

Started playing it again this summer when there was nothing new out. I was amazed that everyone else is an officer and I'm still a sargeant guess some people never stopped playing!
Love it except for the dolphin divers and aimbots in the city maps and the plane jocks on the vehicle maps. I haven't found a game that compares yet, started to play as pesky sniper and its great fun watching people try and spot you.

this is the 1 game i play all the time and i will always play it as there is nothing at there that even comes close...(except for bad company on ps3 using pc keyboard and mouse with converter)not even cod4!

what does that do for start up time, as ive gotten rid of the vids, so when i load up it just goes to black screen, then says welcome do duty and its on the main screen ready to go, but takes abotu 30secs, does that command make it faster?

^^ you cant play BF2 in either single or multiplayer without being online and logging onto the EA/Gamespy servers first.

I'm going to reinstall BF2+SF right now as the gameplay still owns.
BF2142 CD has been upgraded to the dustbin for a good month or so with no regrets.
