OK Guys,

Lets get to the facts. Yes the Battlefield 3 patch came out today and there are a few issue's with it so I would like to try and get a response from you guys to see if we can get down to the bottom of what the problems could be. I'm sure DICE didn't release the patch knowing about these issue's so if we all get together and help we might be able to find out some useful information. By collating this information I will be passing it directly to EA to see if it could speed up the process of the fix as it's better to have a larger collection of data. If I am missing anything off the list please inform me.

If you have not had issues with the game after the patch, please still post information.

Following this context please repeat with your details :

1. Chipset Intel / AMD
2. Graphics card manufacture & model & Drivers e.g. Nvidia GTX 480(x2) drivers 285.38
3. Install location of game, native c program files or separate
4. Copy of BF3 - RU version? Bought from Steam? (running any compatibility mode?)
5. Operating system
6. Problems you have encountered with details

Solutions :

Black Screen has a fix, it's to do with a language pack which is effecting people with RU copies. I'll try find the files.

Updated english files for the RUS version of the game (not responsible for content of files)

1) Intel X58
2) GTX 560 x 2 SLI, 285.62

I can play the SP without any problems apart from the stupidly long load times. I can also play any other game on the same PC without any problems. The Direct X error i get is specific to BF3 MP only. No issues playing in the Alpha or Beta on the same PC.

1. Chipset P35 i think
2. Graphics card manufacture & model & Drivers ATI 5770 11.10
3. Install location of game, C/: program files
4. Copy of BF3 Bought direct from Origin
5. Operating system Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
6. Black screen between maps, game crashes to desktop.

1. Chipset AMD
2. Graphics card manufacture & model & Drivers e.g. Nvidia GTX 460 drivers 285.38
3. Install location of game, E:/ Drive (SSD C:/)
4. Copy of BF3 - Bought from Green man Gaming (seems to be english)
5. Operating system - Windows 7
6. Since update can not connect to any servers at all, Game even loads at times but then disconnects at last moment. Nothing have changed on the system since last night other than update and I was playing for hours last night.

  1. Intel P8P67 Pro (Rev B, 3.0)
  2. 2x MSI GTX580 Lightning Extreme 3GB in SLI, latest official drivers
  3. D:/Program Files(x86) on 1TB slave drive dedicated to apps, games etc
  4. Limited Edition retail DVD
  5. Windows 64bit Ultimate Edition on boot SSD
  6. Rarely, but it does sometimes fail to load the game on a first boot, so I have to end BF3.exe via the task manager and then it will be fine until I quit.

I would also add I use Realtek onboard sound, using latest drivers from Asus motherboard download page.

Only 1 issue, but it's good to see a setup that is almost stable, yes?

Got an odd problem, Just formatted and started over with win7 (vista before)

If I try to enter a game (any single, co-op, multi) it tells me *I need to install the game and gives me a button to open game manager which opens, theres a button there for update, I click that which opens a window with BF3 there and an uninstall option, if I click play it takes me back to *.

Any ideas?

Uninstall and try again, maybe?

1. Chipset Intel X58
2. Ati 5870 Cat version 11.8 (Seems the most stable drivers for this game, for me)
3. C:/games/origin
4. Bought from Steam.
5. Windows 7 64bit
6. The usual BF exe has stopped working when I first join a MP game. Also randomly get this error. No pattern to it at all.

Also get hard locks with looping sound (Brrrrrrrrrrr) Sometimes with a BSOD. Other times I have to hit the reset button.

Might as well chip in as I'm getting problems now:

1. Chipset: Intel P45
2. Graphics card: BFG GTX260 216 - Driver version: 285.62
3. Install location of game: C:\Program Files\Battlefield 3
4. Key from GMG installed through Origin
5. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
6. Problem: Since updating I can join a server but the game locks after about 30 seconds. Sound loops and the game just sits. Pressing the Windows key gets you back to the desktop, task manager reports the game as 'Running' but the window turns white.
I've made no changes since updating tonight. Driver versions etc. are all the same since Beta.

1. Chipset - ASUS Intel P7P55D-EVO CPU i5 750@3800

3. Install location of game - native C program files (SSD)
4. Copy of BF3 - Retail disk - UK
5. Windows 7 X64 Enterprise

If running afterburner, try renaming the rtcore.cfg file in the afterburner directory, this helped with my bfbc2 crashes with the Brrrrrrrrring sound. It doesnt matter wether your using onboard or a dedicated audio card, i had this on both.

Appreciate the help friend, but not using afterburner. :( Wish I was.
