no, VPN is just simply connecting to a private network which then connects to your desired destination i.e the ea server but the ea server will see your location and ip as the private network i.e Korea or USA.

Only had 10.x and needed 11.2gb, just deleted Rage... damn thing had 2sec stutters every 6-7sec without fail, was completely unplayable :mad:

I also noticed that it says its got the PWP when adding it to Origin, surely thats not true. Right? I'd be well chuffed if it was though, but i suspect its just 1-text-fits-all for BF3 installs and not accurate. Fingers crossed though

Check the comments, theres an EA community rep on there, he's dismissed the ability to unlock it, people have asked about the banhammer coming down on them, and he's not really responded to that, more laughed off the suggestion that this is feasable like Origin is VPN proof (which people have said, with FIFA12, this isnt the case).

You may well be right, i dont know any more than what im reading, but its interesting he never threw out the rulebook, just dismissed the likelyhood of it working.

A heads up, I paused my download and it resumed from 0%.

Pretty annoying when you're 3GB in on a 2Mbit connection.

Just about to start the download, over a 2mb connection eek.

Once it is downloaded, I really dont fancy doing this all over again. Can you back up the downloaded games files so that you can reinstall without d/l all over again?

I know Steam has a backup function. Does Origin have something similar?

I had to reinstall Origin and a game so I just copied the whole folder and then reinstalled. It tries to download the whole thing so just stop that and right click on repair install.

How exactly is it a failure when it allows you DL the most anticipated game this decade a week early at speeds that any other DDL could only dream of. Considering its Beta I'm finding it hard to fault right now.

I also had problems with this card and BF3 but since downclocking it with the FW update (880 instead of 900) touch wood it was all good. Hope this works for others.
