I have resisted pre-ordering it since I was hoping it would go on Steam. I will wait until the 25th at least (US release date) to see if it appears. But just in case, I wanted to know, whether or not you guys think it would be a good idea to pre-order it now on disc version so it will come to me on Friday or not?

I guess my question is what is the latest date you can pre-order something before it does not come in time in your experience?

Also, am I right in saying that it does not matter where you buy it (online or at store) as BF3 will have to be linked to an origin account anyway?

Even if it does come on steam you will still need origin, just like with games requiring GFWL such as batman arkham asylum

erm i just purchased the limited edition on origin but i cant pre load it, it just says unreleased and when i right click on it the download option is greyed out.

i thought pre load was now available ?

So tempted by the pre-load offer instead of relying on Amazon to send it to me on release day, so I get the spektat DLC
