Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Apart from someone above saying 5 map packs i can't find any other difference between the 2 apart from the base game and as you said the few weapon unlocks.
 
In those packs you get 20 new maps, 20 new weapons, 10 new vehicles and 4 new games modes. You get a head start on the online multiplayer with some of the weapons unlocked immediately.
 
Are daft server rules common?

I was just kicked from a server for using the engineers *starter* weapon. I mean really? I have had the game less than a week!

Any server that harps on about baserape, which gun you can/can't or not killing the admin more than twice in a row just stay well clear of; it's run by nubs for nubs. Been the case in FPS games since the dawn of FPS games, so not much you can do but avoid them or stick to a few servers you know you like.

It actually gave me a giggle. I had been on the server just a few seconds, TDM round, spawned, killed someone, got kicked.

I was level 12 in the middle of a double XP event. Its not like I am knowingly chosing anything OP.

Different server, 2 kills the whole game but almost 3k score ... purely from farting ammo crates at team mates :D

all that will ever happen is you may get kicked if pb decide its a threat it isnt and has been done so it doesnt break pb rules


use it its great . you will never get banned for using it they will warn people if deciding to do so.

if you ever unsure about any program you can send the details to pb and they analyze it telling you if its okay.

i was under the impression the new maps, weapons and vehicles were part of the DLC expansions anyway such as BTK and AK. As both of them include the expansions i'm still wondering whether to buy the premium edition so i have a spare account.

Yes they are. They are part of the packs. Overall it is cheaper to get the premium version rather than trying to add the packs individually.

Well, new players are ****ed then if they don't purchase the packs.

The weapons and vehicles they quote is the sum of stuff added to the game by the expansion packs.

BF3 premium membership gets you back to Karkand which adds 10 weapons, close quarters which adds another 10, armoured kill which includes 5 new vehicles etc..

There is no difference between buying BF3 premium membership and a copy if BF3 and the premium edition apart from the "multiplayer head start kit" which pre unlocks 15 of the standard weapons you'd normally have to rank up to get.

In answer to your original question, yes you can just buy BF3 premium edition and have a spare account. You won't lose out on anything

I'm not looking at adding packs individually I'm looking at buying either premium or premium edition of which there is only a £2.50 difference right now.

I have been using it for about a week and can say that it makes things look so much better. I really hope this doesn't get banned in the future (can't see it happening, like FXAA injector) as it makes the game so much nicer to play.

People may and do think that this is an unfair advantage but from what I can tell, having tested Colour Tweaker and going back to stock, that there is no benefit in seeing people. If anything on some sections ie inside the metro, the Colour Tweaker actually makes it harder to see people in the dark bits.

You may need to change some in game brightness depending on the monitor you have. But In my opinion EVERYONE should use it and enjoy actual colours in the game rather than dull blue.
