Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Considering my Windows 8 looks like Windows 7, thanks to Start8 and runs Battlefield 4 in the playable unlike Windows 7. I'm happy!

I was getting frame rate drops to 5fps in 7 and massive jerk, stuttering!

Bah still can't bind the keys I need to play well and if I bind those functions to other keys it will start to over-ride my muscle memory and degrade performance in other games...

I cant even get into a game now! :( Just keep getting stuck on the black 'loading' screen. I hear sound effects in the background but nothing else.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!

BATTLEFIELD 4 is SUPER SUPER smooth on Windows 8, Ive just tested it myself and it's like a completely new game.

Windows 7 IS the cause.

Oh and I have Windows 8 looking like Windows 7 with Start Button :D

tosh mate, ive ran it on similar systems on 7 & 8 and it was the same

Absolutely no performance issues at all with Windows 7 here. You probably just have some dodgy driver.

Running windows 7 in bootcamp on my macbook pro, only got the 512mb 650M in this as well but runs its perfectly fine on Medium, don't know the exact FPS but smooth enough to play which is good enough for me.

650M on the old 310.90 driver which allows me to overclock, certainly helps. Get a pop up warning every time I start the game saying about my outdated driver :D

Takes forever to load though

I've looked at the specs of people who are talking about problems. And the people who are mainly having problems are people using i5.
This may be just coincidence.

But in all seriousness, I can't honestly see a company make a game that would require people to have an i7.

I mean the 4670k is a very good processor that comes out very highly in benchmarks when overclocked.
So surely Battlefield cant require an i7/ 8-core AMD, as that would put SO many people off who have i5s like the 4670k which is a very good processor when overclocked.

No doubt this will run like dog **** for me tomorrow :( :p

i5 750 oc to 3.6GHz (IIRC goes up to 3.8GHz since turbo is enabled)
8GB RAM
MSI OC 7850 2GB with latest stable drivers
1080P res.
windows 7 64 bit
will be installed on crucial m4 SSD

What are people preferring the most so far, conquest or domination?

Read mixed opinions on both modes but general consensus seems to be

domination = capture c building roof top.......
conquest = too vehicle orientated and roof campers galore

Lets hope we get paracel storm soon!

edit:

TBH I wish they had more game modes especially obliteration game mode as I think that will be the most popular......
