Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Think theres a bug with that regarding boats not really sure whats happening but I think the boat tries to sink or something but then regenerates enough health not to "die" and ends up stuck half under the water (can still move about but its underwater almost like a submarine) totally messed up for any player that then uses it to spawn onto.

EDIT: A blown up boat tends to sit on the top of the water so not sure whats going on there.

I just don't understand the point of vehicles magically repairing themselves, a vehicle can be on fire, yet the minute you get out it starts to repair itself. :confused: They've made bf3 look like bf1942 in comparison, at least in bf3 if something was on fire it needed an engineer to halt and repair the damage, they've really derped it down to the nth degree in this.
 
The bit I don't get is, how come we has this in BF3 and BF4 yet the first Battlefield game using the Frostbite engine BF:BC2 didn't 'seem' to have this issue.

On a side note, it would be cool if they updated some of the BF:BC2 Rush maps and released them for BF4.

Change in the way hits are calculated. It's done client side meaning you hit what you aim at, instead of using interpolation to give you a rough idea where the client thinks the server is and having to lead you targets more to hit where the player is on the server instead of your screen.

You do this to others all the time since they aren't round the corner on your screen. In theory it's the "fairest" system but is easily open to nude (multi kill hack" and leads to being shot round corners. Dice Devs see this as a price worth laying for the "fairer" system however since all players no matter what their ping have an equal chance of hitting somebody. Interpolated player positions make it harder for players with higher pings, because as the pings and delays get bigger you need to lead targets more

The Devs explained the decision behind thus and it was designed to stop people only having to damage tanks to 50% upon which the vehicle became Immobile and on fire so people bailed out.

Now you actually have to finish a vehicle instead of doing half the job. It's not about derping it down at all

Not surprised at all. It's obvious from the bugs still in the game it wasn't properly tested. No doubt EA didn't care and wouldn't push the date back for fear of not beating COD to market

So making the engineer essentially redundant isn't derping it down? Why should a helicopter be able to fall from a few hundred feet like a piece of paper and land on the ground while repairing itself? Maybe it makes sense in some respect to ground based vehicles but for aircraft like Helicopters it just looks and plays incredibly stupidly.
 
But then with the price of games many would just choose one of them and the lure of being the 'first' to launch would have been high.

I'm not too sure. I'd have thought that both games each have their respective 'day one fans' whereas there will be the folk that buy both games but not right at release.
 
Just played a game where my team just allowed the enemy use of nearly all tanks and helis. I think most of them were camped on top of C. The people on the ground stood no chance. Rage inducing.

If you do happen to find a good server, I'd recommend you 'favourite' it. I've been trying a few on my favourites list and they don't tend to have as many issues as the random ones I try to join.

That's me done for the day. I've become a bullet-magnet in my last few games.
 
Just played a game where my team just allowed the enemy use of nearly all tanks and helis. I think most of them were camped on top of C. The people on the ground stood no chance. Rage inducing.

If you do happen to find a good server, I'd recommend you 'favourite' it. I've been trying a few on my favourites list and they don't tend to have as many issues as the random ones I try to join.

That's me done for the day. I've become a bullet-magnet in my last few games.

I dodge all the vehicle maps if I can really help it. They ruin it for me.
 
The netcode/hit reg. has been absolutely terrible tonight, hitting people with the HMG on the tank, I see the blood and see the wee animation they do but.......... no ****ING hit markers!?

And had a ton of deaths tonight where I didn't even see the guy come around the corner as he shot me, only did he come around the corner when it switched to the killcam.

Such bs this game atm.

Certainly going to make me think twice before pre-ordering another EA/DICE game!

Not going to play this tomorrow, need a break from it as it is just too annoying atm with the crashes, netcode/hit reg. etc.

sorry i couldn't get to revive ya but the sodding enemy was everywhere :(.
 
Trying to play SP but having problems, on the prison escape map when you pull the levers and all hell breaks loose... every time I die it gets stuck on the black loading screen, after 10 mins it CTD's forcing me to restart the game EVERY TIME I DIE. Which is lots.

I feel your pain, you probably saw me raging about it when I was playing with you - that guy I was raging at... 20 kills 2 deaths, I could see nades going off next to him and him getting hit in the head in the killcam yet he never went below 100% health! Yet me, I put a full mag into the back of his head and he just turns around pew I am instantly dead from his PP2000 and off he runs taking even more hits with no damage.

I turned my network smoothing factor all the way down and it made no difference!

Was that on top of C? I'd just bailed out of a heli, jumped down and shot someone in the face multiple times. Nothing happened and of course I died. Rage quit.

It's a strange old game and I've got a love hate relationship with it so far. I'm getting a bit sick of getting shot whilst in cover. I was stood behind a pillar on SoS yet the tank took me out with one shot. It's almost as if the enemy see's me 1 second previous to what I see on my own screen (if that makes sense).
