Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

The games been not bad this week for me, Got a pretty good setup at the moment and with a squad of friends we utterly smash people when we have all our classes picked out correctly.

We usually do 1 x Engineer (me), 2 x medic's and 1 Support for ammo.

Im still not sure on the squad perk system, doesnt really seem that decent to me, the BF3 way was better.

If anyone crashing and suspecting it's a memory leak, keep an eye on memory usage if it starts to go far beyond, say 5/6GB, the next round leave then close origin and battlelog and rejoin. The ram usage resets and you won't "freeze crash" due to memory leaking issues. I've not crashed once since. I can normally play 3 rounds in a row before i notice unusual ram usage.

Going 16/0 in fast attack jets - <3 Jdams -

Then there entire enemy team focusing there jets upon you with there ground anti air and even choppers to take your jet out is hilarious.

I was providing hella ground support but my team was providing me no anti air and then went on to talk **** to me saying that i wasnt supporting them anymore!

YEAH THATS RIGHT because i was being locked by the entire enemy team pretty much haha.

:P

Trying to play SP but having problems, on the prison escape map when you pull the levers and all hell breaks loose... every time I die it gets stuck on the black loading screen, after 10 mins it CTD's forcing me to restart the game EVERY TIME I DIE. Which is lots.

I had that exact issue, so I just took it rediculously slow, stayed in the central controll room until I had picked off all but a couple of the guards that come then ventured out, as soon as you hit the checkpoint it's fine.

The vehicles need toning down in hardcore. 60% player health works great, but vehicles with 100% is just unbalanced and they can cause havoc. Can't say I agree with having to use all 5 rockets (default launcher) to take down a tank on normal mode let alone hardcore!

The IGLA is fantastic against air targets though! :D

Think i'm going to purchase a 1920x1080 monitor and a 770, my 1600x900 is starting get on my nerves. The UI feels all squashed.

Finding the right servers seems to be key, I've been having some great games!

Added myself an OCUK tag so add me if you see me 'Orchy5'

Because of the netcode, the guns with the highest rate of fire will always come out on top - that's why you'll see people with the AEK or ACW-R absolutely demolishing everyone else they come across in a 1v1 scenario 99% of the time.

I've started using the SG553 in my Recon loadout. High ROF, good burst shot accuracy at range, and I prefer the recoil spread compared to the ACW-R. And of course that means I get to use C4 too which is always a bonus ;)

Benneh, I am probably just bad ;) but the ACW-R is not overly amazing tbh. The you have to be at a fairly close range. I added the 2xscope that I can flick too on my secondary attachment and it's terrible. The recoil is absolutely massive, even when double tapping. It's only good for kind of spotting with and then getting in closer for the kill.

I can probably see myself playing a bit more recon, just so I can unlock the DMR and stick iron sights on it, instead of playing a true sniper role.

While I am having a moan the launchers are just p***ing me off no end. The maps are just to small to make full use of the SRAW or the Javelin. Is there some sort of unlock to hit targets over 500m? Not being able to hit the jets or the gunships because they are to high in the sky is rubbish.

Whats the deal with this then Stoney? Ive never really been happy with the feel of the mouse in game and am up for some experimenting. Surely if its set low in game and at windows / mouse driver level you will struggle to acquire targets wouldn't you?

Well low sens improves accuracy. Yes you might get shot from behind a tiny percentage more but lets face it, if someone is shooting you from behind / the sides, they have the drop on you and should kill you.

I could make a really really long post with lots of info on here but it'd take up half the page. So instead of that let me give you a few pointers to try and if anyone wants to go more in depth, feel free to PM me :D

First thing to do is make sure in windows that you have enhanced pointer precision turned off (acceleration) and check mouse sens is 6 out of 11. This will give you a 1:1 movement ratio.

Now then for the "fun stuff" go into your BF settings folder..eg C:\Users\Joe\Battlefield 4\settings and open PROFSAVE_profile with notepad.

I use a Zowie Ec2 Evo @ 450 Dpi and my in game sens is 0.013500 (about 9% on the in game menu)

A really great site http://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/ which will convert mouse sens from most games into sens for another game. Eg BF3 > BF4 or a 450 dpi mouse to 1800 dpi mouse.

Things to be aware of, you will tire your hand out more with low sens. You will do a LOT of mouse lifting.

EDIT....BJN are you mad? Vehicles are already toned down in HC, they have no regen and no 3D view. HC mode is massively broken in BF4 as it is. Try to use a different launcher to the n00b canon which is the MBT law.

Anyone have any problems with punkbuster? Yesterday I was kicked each game after about 5 seconds and the reason was something to do with Punk buster.
Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks
Ian

hmmmm

getting a lot of crashing in mp, looping sound and everything stops
got the amd beta drivers but no change

first game ive had problems with in about 10 years!

its hit and miss too, ill play for 2 hours with no issue then last night it did it about 4 times in an hour.

getting the same old dice rubber banding issue ive had since bfbc2, running behind cover and still getting killed, shooting people in the back of the head them turning round and killing me in 1 shot, its frustrating

seems to not like alt tab either when maps are changing

game itself is good, improvement on bf3, graphics are good and run smoother

seem to get stomped by tanks / helis etc too much though, id say there are too many per side? - even on a full 64 player map most people are in a tank or something, might just be where its new, people trying things out rather than playing objectives etc

really not into the idea of unlocking everything again either, its just getting boring now grinding away to unlock a widget

singleplayer is a bit odd, like they didnt really bother too much. usual 'merica story line and pop up badguys and lots of press e to activate scripted bits
but graphically looks great, just get the idea they didnt put much effort in at all really. liked the LHD / aicraft carrier levels a lot, other levels are pretty meh
also like how the storyline is more contained to one more realistic small area instead of COD country hopping stuff

Well that's the last time i pick up one of those rocket launches off the floor as it was an instant crash to desktop

Netcode is making the game a complete joke, even taking into consideration my system struggling to play it (it is not a smooth experience) that netcode very nearly makes the game pointless. I was shot by someone on the other side of a ruined static tank behind a concrete wall. I ran for 3+ metres before it decided that i was killed.

Oh and while I'm complaining I don't like the counter knifing ********.
Ships/boats seem to have as much armour plating as tanks
'battlepacks' are cod like crap that have no place in a bf game

There a really good game in there somewhere but in its current build its the worst bf game i have played (played them all) :(

Finished the SP campaign last night, very short and very easy on "Hard" but beautiful and a lot of fun. If only I could pass my skills on to Multi, I'm getting battered lol. Not had a single CTD yet though.

And crash again

Shame as I was having good rounds with wes. etc. from here on TFU, raping some of the TFU guys :p

Had a (brief) good time with you guys on Railroad. Only had an hour to play last night, and was your tank machine gunner for a while, then I got out to repair and some other OCUK chump grabbed my spot. After that I just ran around on foot shooting recons who were trying to C4 you and repairing your tank (and cheekily putting one rocket into each armoured enemy to grab kill assists when you popped them) - put me at 3rd on the scoreboard with hardly any kills before I got the repeating-sound-crash bug :D.

I decided to cut my losses, take the points I'd already got and go play single player, which I'm getting towards the end of I think (post-cable car now).

Can anyone explain how you get from "we're in a crashed cable car and the Russian's dead" to "we're in a jeep approaching a russian-held town"? The cutscene just seemed to chop straight into it?

I use a Zowie Ec2 Evo @ 450 Dpi and my in game sens is 0.013500 (about 9% on the in game menu)

Sorry bit OT Joe but do you ever find yourself hitting the max tracking speed on your Evo? I've been thinking about getting one for a while but I use a really low sens (900 dpi, 2% in game) and I'm wondering if it's going to 'spazz' out on me and have me looking at the floor/ sky if I flick too fast...

Back OT: just added my origin id to the list in the OP if anyone fancies a few games :)

yeah not feeling the battlepacks much ? whats the point ? ive unlocked 9 random attachments for weapons that at this rate I wont unlock for 6 months let alone at all

kind of sick of "unlocks" now, it just makes it easier for people who play a lot (who are winning from all the practice anyway) and if you are relying on people grinding to unlock things to keep them playing a game then it doesnt say much about your gameplay really ! :p

I just want to get on with actually working out what combinations work for me and then start playing for objectives etc, and im buggered if im paying to unlock things either!!
