Battlefield 6 - Thread

Whilst 2042 wasn't a good Battlefield game, it was a decent enough specialist FPS shooter. I managed a good amount of playtime in the first 2 years that the game was out, only stopped playing as other things came out and took my attention but it was fun.

I really hope they don't ignore destruction being such a key element to BF, it's a huge factor in what makes it stand apart from Call of Duty/other FPS games and 2042 essentially ignored destruction for scripted events.

So long as there's a server browser I'll be happy

Highly doubt this!

The big difference between Battlefield of old (up to BF2) and new Battlefield is Call of Duty being in the space.

I don't think there's a position for a massive publisher like EA to release a slower paced, teamwork focused, large scale FPS game these days.

People either don't have enough playing friends to fill a squad, or are complete idiots who won't play as a team, so the game is doomed to fail sadly :(

Will it offer a sense of pride and accomplishment?

No, it will be the same as the recent releases. Bare bones, missing content, shoddy map design and a total misunderstanding of what Battlefield is.

Ultimately, the content will be fleshed out over season passes under the guise of 'new designs' which is nothing more than previous models being used because **** you and your money, that's why.

I'll definitely not be pre-ordering this after the uber disappointment that the last one was. If its good though (and enough mates actually buy it) I'll jump in.

BF series was good up to Bf4.
Then I stopped buying them.
still recall when I won a map for my team in bf1942, 22 years ago.
Bf2 was their best game.
Bc2 had potential but it was not enough with 32 players, 48 had been better design.
still won a competition back then, good days

Is this Karkand ?? Looks like the hotel
probably cos they have to rely on nostalgia to sell games it seems, the main selling point is the brand name and associating it with past titles.

How about just release BF2 again ,but the only thing they are allowed to change is the graphics.. probably less work, a better game and sells more copies.

Modern theatres of war are boring as well, I'd rather ta game with 70s tech at the most, once everything is laser guided, auto aiming etc it's boring.

Make the planes and helis unrealistically hard to fly so it's a challenge.. don't need to see one guy getting 10 player kill streaks for a whole round without ever dying.

official details on the next #Battlefield

The #Battlefield teams have prioritized what they call their "green initiative" which means they're focused on software stability and the game is ALWAYS playable for playtesting.

They're already testing with players and they plan to introduce a new LARGE SCALE, community driven testing "early next year"

This will give the teams more feedback on "gameplay, performance and fun factor."

  • Modern setting (Battlefield 3 / Battlefield 4 era).
  • All-out warfare (air, land and sea).
  • Maps: Well-designed play spaces that are more akin to previous BFs.
  • 64 players.
  • NO Specialists. Class system is back.
  • Natural disasters/events.
  • It's being developed by DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect and Criterion.
  • They're expanding Battlefield universe.
  • 2025 release window.
  • EA is playtesting the game every week.
  • EA plans to launch a community program next year.
  • Concept art revealed.

sounds like a live service game with match making lame.

some indie devs will come out with a game that has servers you can run your self, we just have to wait for people to realise community is why people played the old CS and BF games 10 hours a day for years on end.

playing with randos is boring and BF is always plagued by cheaters.

also your never going to have all out warfare with 64 players.. stuck on player sizes from 20 years ago even though computers are about a million times more powerful now.
