Battlestar Galactica

I've been watching BSG... and i don't like the way they take away focus from big battle scenes with random character interaction (which ends up being meaningless).

There are other things that make BSG very annoying... actually i just watched an episode which wasn't too bad... but you didn't learn anything.

A lot like Lost... one of the most annoying shows on TV :D

btw i also hate the way there are certain people that trawl the forum just to post "reminders" that you aren't allowed to talk about USA episodes or people that say
"you better remove that sweary mate, *wink* or you'll be on a short holiday"... they don't even talk about the show in the thread at all...

A reminder, people can only talk about what has been aired in the UK. Not in the usa :)
Why? There's quite a few american forum members. And you can even legally download and watch the stuff being aired in the States now from iTunes if you have a US credit card. You could even get someone to tape it for you and post it, though buying the entire series on DVD would probably be cheaper! :p

lets not go into that again, just don't and follow the rules. Or this thread will get locked before you see another reply.

Its annoying because i really liked series 1, but since i don't have sky i'm forced to wait till eternity for the dvd to come out.

I was in the states recently and saw season 2.0 box set, which is the first half of season 2, but whats the point? seems to be the big thing at the moment, scam people for half a season, same thing over there with lost and family guy, hope it doesn't translate over here.

Oh well, keep on waiting...

The new BSG is great, im loving the seriousness of this series compared to the old one wich i loved in its time, my only complaint at the start of watching it, would be that they made starbuck and boomer Women... WTF... but i got over it and continue to watch eagerly.

^^ i thought the US boxset of S1 of Lost was about 1/3rd the price of buying the 2 1/2 season sets in the UK?

It is but i still thinks its a con, the US had the 1/2 box's as well before the full season box came out, and they were $25 each, now the full set is $30.

Its cheaper than here but thats mainly economics. I'd rather buy a full season than have it split in half, its confusing as well because i was walking up to the till at bestbuy with BSG season 2 and family guy season 4, only to then realise that they're not the full sets. No point buying them because over here they'll be released as full seasons, hence i'd have to import the 2nd parts when they came out.

I just think its another music/tv/movie industry con job.

Maybe in theory but they are both such strong characters that I think it adds to the flavour of the plotlines. That said I haven't really watched the original series all that much so can't really judge too much. But the new series works for me anyway!

For anyone basing their opinion of the new BSG on Season 1, well, that was good but personally I think S2 is a lot stronger so far. It is well worth watching, and, in fact, well worth watching S1 just so you are uptodate with S2 :p

It is a con job but seeing as you obviously know about it you'd be a double fool to still be conned by it :p

Most people know these days that there will be 'Director's Cuts' and 'Ultimate Editions' of films and TV, just depends how much you want that ultimate set and if you're willing to wait/buy it along with your original set. There aren't too many things I can think of that I would be that bothered about buying again just to get 5 extra minutes of pointless scenery and a new documentary of the director picking his nose.

lol i know what you mean, just with BSG its so hard to resist the temptation, dont have sky so the urge to just pay more to see those 10 episodes was so great :(

ahhh maybe sky is worth it after all.
