we have just loaded the final jumbo of 3, full of car and parts etc of to Australia
it tookoff about 10pm last night

Whitmarsh waxes positive about the new McLaren, saying that it'll surprise some of their rivals. I hope he's right...Actually I suspect he is right, but I think the surprise could well be a pleasant one for his rivals.

So despite the average test results, he thinks that somehow...somehow...the car will suddenly start performing better than in the tests?

Doesn't appear to be any season starter program. That's a shame, have bbc ever done them, or am I thinking back to ITV days.

If it doesn't end up near the back of the pack, it will be a surprise. I guess it depends how much of the "final" package they have shown in testing. If he is assuming there will be significant development between testing and the race next week, well, I have news for him - everyone else will have done the same!

The sky box has hd broadcasts in orange and sd in white, f1 is white. Oh well, it will probably change nearer the time.

Edit: just checked again just now and saturdays qualifying is now coming up to be broadcast in hd. Panic over

I really like this easy way of telling what tyres a driver is using at a glance. However, you think they could have made a bigger difference between white and silver/grey! That's gonna be tricky to know which is which on a cloudy day. Should have made it green or something.
