It shouldnt be just about the teams though, should it. Its the fans that keep it going.

Agreed by the teams have shown in the past they really didn't care about keeping fans happy as long as they got their pound of flesh.

All the teams are keeping quiet on this because they have been promised money.

The only times the teams whinge is when they don't think they are getting enough. Taking f1 away from the masses and they say nothing after the meeting with bernie.

Probably a stupid question but if the contracts already been signed surely there's **** all the BBC can do about it, even if they see the error of their ways?

I've said it once and i'll say it again. 14 day cooling off period.

The BBC don't want to do anything, they wanted to end the whole contract early and were offered 'support' from Bernie and Sky. As I understood it the BBC went Bernie for help with a view to terminating the deal.

Andi.

booohoo jake and eddie saying the bbc has no money, maybe if they stopped making trash like torchwood and eastenders and cut some of the radio stations no one listens to they would have money.

may have to take a trip to there new offices and ask for my tv license money back as its rather obvious they dont care about what anyone else thinks outside of the office.

Just seen this mentioned on one of the petitions

http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/9429334-bbc-buys-the-voice-talent-show-for-22-million

Absolutely outrageous

£22 million spent just to try and compete with the X Factor.... ITV itself bid for it, but the BBC upped its bid to outbid them. Felt there was plenty of money left in the coffers did we ????

BBC can't afford F1 ??? BULL ****

 22mil for a talentless show and then they scrap F1. Who are the muppets who make these bloody stupid decisions with our money

That 22mil would have ensured the BBC kept the original deal til 2013 :/
I saw that, but it's not online for a while and people will have calmed down by then :(
Ill try and make sure it gets posted when its live here - only need a 100k sigs to get it at least discussed...

ps3ud0

Hope there are some angry viewers on the F1 forum today, but they probably won't comment on it.
Id implore everyone here to tweet the F1 forum today, its supposedly the place to answer fans questions and if this isnt relevant then I dont know what is.

Ill be doing it for all the remaining F1 Forums myself...

The BBC mission statement is laughable. I've highlighted the main things I contest.

BBC Mission and values

Our mission
To enrich people's lives with programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain.
Our vision
To be the most creative organisation in the world.
Our values
• Trust is the foundation of the BBC: we are independent, impartial and honest.
Audiences are at the heart of everything we do.
We take pride in delivering quality and value for money.
• Creativity is the lifeblood of our organisation.
• We respect each other and celebrate our diversity so that everyone can give their best.
• We are one BBC: great things happen when we work together.
The Royal Charter and Agreement also sets out six public purposes for the BBC. See Public purposes.

I was annoyed at the news, but it isn't surprising, and at the end of the day who doesn't have Sky/Virgin?

Let's not kid ourselves, Bernie is money minded and Sky can outbid anyone. The 'half a season' is just a face-saving exercise from both him & BBC, because he knows that to drop BBC altogether would go against what he said sometime ago that going Sky would hurt F1, yet now its a great partnership.

You can't blame Sky for being the biggest guys around, the blame lies with Bernie/BBC for money grabbing / lack of commitment respectively.
