BBC vs Lineker

I'm glad this is stirring up a hornets nest, the government have only put this legislation forward to divide us, and I think most people will unite behind Lineker - rabid Daily Mail readers aside.

That being said, it's not a straightforward situation and I do understand both sides...

Ha!

Match of the Day will go ahead as planned on Saturday without "studio presentation or punditry", and will instead focus on "match action", the BBC has said.

Brian Clough has got his way at last, just showing the football.
To be fair, I actually like (some of) the analysis.

I think the BBC have been pretty smart with the decision, they aren't going to suffer the embarrassment phoning round until someone says yes and equally putting whomever presented it in an awkward position of having 'broken the picket line'. It will be interesting to see what happens with MOTD2 however.

Talking on 5 live now saying the commentators are discussing not commentating on MOTD on Saturday now!

Felt like this whole thing had fizzled out midweek, they’d had a word with him and the matter was closed. Not sure if someone up top decided he needed making an example of but it’s blown up in their face big time and now become a much bigger issue than just Lineker.

I've seen very little support for his opinions, his right to have them, now that's a different thing entirely
