Look harder!
Yeah he's gone, no matter how many of his footy mates support him. You don't mess with aunty Beeb, that's why she gets £4bn of our money.I can't see Linekar working for the BBC again and I can't see how this doesn't end up in court or at least with him getting a big pay off.
Reading the BBC guidelines, they're very clear your opinion in the public domain can't overlap the work you do for them. They're also clear, a sports or science presenter is unlikely to have much impact if they're expressing views on politics in the public domain. In my opinion, had they deemed his opinion worthy of suspension, it would've happened immediately so they've clearly been pressured in to this.
I've seen very little support for his opinions, his right to have them, now that's a different thing entirely
He should have stuck to impartial things like donating hundreds of thousands of pounds to the Conservatives and fixing loans for the prime minister.Talking on 5 live now saying the commentators are discussing not commentating on MOTD on Saturday now!
Felt like this whole thing had fizzled out midweek, they’d had a word with him and the matter was closed. Not sure if someone up top decided he needed making an example of but it’s blown up in their face big time and now become a much bigger issue than just Lineker.

The reason he is in trouble is because the Tory stooge that Boris installed as BBC chairman has an opportunity to stoke up their culture war strategy.Hes not got in trouble for not being impartial, its the content of his tweet rather than the topic. Everyone know Lineker is very left leaning. He tweets about it regularly. There are still lines you don't cross when you are the BBCs highest paid star.
Anyway, I've tried to reach out to Robbie Savage to see if he will be backing the boycott. Fingers crossed.

What lines, people keep stating his contract but every person I've seen interviewed with any knowledge of BBC contracts state his contract won't be the same due to him covering sports. BBC news has a commitment to impartiality but he doesn't. There's an old interview with Ross Atkins where they discuss this and never before has he been called up about this.
I'm biased I guess, I very much agree with his views on immigration and people really have to start understanding this is something that going to affect us all (As humans rather than our lifetime).
It's about time there was a reset, it's been a cosy little club for a long time.I think this is very much a case of Lineker wanting his cake and eating it. The BBC, who pay his salary as per their contract with him, have impartiality rules. If he wishes to voice his quite frankly ridiculous (on this occasion) political stance, he should find employment with the plethora of broadcasters that aren't publicly funded and have no impartiality rules.
As for Scott, Shearer and Wright - they're replaceable too.
The impartiality rules are for people working in news and current affairs, not sports. He hasn't broken any rules, he's just given the Tory donor in charge of the BBC's impartiality an excuse to fill the media with culture war nonsense for a week.I think this is very much a case of Lineker wanting his cake and eating it. What a load of rubbish. Are you a tory?I think this is very much a case of Lineker wanting his cake and eating it. The BBC, who pay his salary as per their contract with him, have impartiality rules.
