No you're not invited :D

BBQ for 40 people need a decent good value easy menu, I have two Weber Kettles and a Rotal Barby.

I'm thinking one webber as a slow cooker lid on so maybe a lump of pork for pulled pork and a lump of brisket, all started off the night before and cooked slow and long, bangers, massive pot of home made coleslaw. Smokey Chicken Thighs, rolls, greens, mozzarella and tomato salad, new pots.

Anything else you'd recommend?

Burgers and if I can get decent prawns - yes

Corn on the cob goes well soaked in their husks and slung on - yes

Can I borrow your BBQ DJ?

Don't take this the wrong way, but no. I'm really fussy about it and would be rather worried it might get damaged, scraped etc. I'm sorry :(

Mushrooms, big wack of butter and black pepper wrapped in tinfoil, chucked on bbq is always nice :)

I'm not sure how cheap it'd be but chicken cut to goujon type size and wrapped in bacon is awesome when smoked. You can make a fair few portions with just a small amount of chicken and a pack of streaky bacon.

You can also add extra things such as onions, cheese, chillies, etc between the bacon and chicken.

Great idea I have a slow cooker have you any links to a uk recipe? Everything seems to be yank

also potato salad
He also does a good recipe for that but cant see it on his site and not home till Friday.

you want very fast cook stuff and slow stuff that makes kilos like brisket, pulled pork.
With that many people (unless you have loads of bbq area) I would stay away from things like chicken legs/wings.

The other relatively fast and big server is things like spachcock chicken, butterflied leg of lamb, etc.

Being in the US I tend to only have US recipes also :p

Check this out though, looks pretty epic :p

You could use a mix of tinned pinto beans and kidney beans or even baked beans - when you add in the onion, pepper, BBQ sauce, brown sugar and vinegar it'll be pretty awesome. If I was grilling though I grill up the bacon then chop it up and put it in the beans. Also use the burnt ends from the brisket and mix them in too if you can leave them long enough without just eating them :p

Also worth spending a few hours watching bbq pit boys on youtube, if nothing else it'll get your drooling. Usually (but not always) more lower end but awesome looking recipes.

Get some pork steaks too. They're nice and fatty, so are great for BBQs. Chicken breast, cut up, marinaded and on skewers is also good as you can get a fair amount of skewers done for one pack.

Chicken, pre-cook at 160 in the oven for an hour (covered) so it's cooked before you get to start cooking on BBQ then coat in home-made BBQ sauce and BURN!!

Burgers and sausages - can't go wrong with those three!

I'm catering for 60-75 people and decided just to pay someone to do it. I'm going for a hog roast and BBQ on the side with some salads etc. It's a big ask to cater for that many people so happy for someone to do it for me.
