so will there be places for people NOT on the list, like, later on or summit, or are you going all clicky?
 
It's nothing to do with that. It's the fact that they don't want to stretch Matblack's parents. This is the reason they are using the "previous attendees only" system and I suppose to stop idiots/people who'll probably not go and stop others from going by dropping out at an inconvenient time.

Great the dates have been set.. i'm 90% certain i'll be there. I just have to check family plans and will post back hee tomorrow if that's ok?

As already said, it's more to do with the fact that it's being
held on MB's parents property. We know that everybody who went last year behaved themselves so to play it safe, MB is inviting the same people again. Naturally, not everybody will be able to make it so there will, at a later date, be a reserve list that extra people will be CHOSEN from. It is not a first come first served list. If that seems a bit cliquey then so be it. Better that than to have some knob head turn up and set fire to the garden and house :p
 
Booked the time off, count me in \o/ :cool:

I'll be heading down from Kidderminster this year, so if anyone needs a lift give me a shout.
 
I'll check at work tomorrow for holiday and Jhadur will be working the weekend so sould be able to check he can get holiday so I should be able to let you know (and post from my own PC/account) by Sunday

Currently I'd say we're 80% yes - I've already been looking thru argos for kettles so I don't have to resort to eating coffee beans from the bag like last year :o

As for brekky - will the toaster/hob be available? And could you get some more jam please? I'll pay extra :D
 
I spoke to the offshore admin lassie at work today but she couldn't say yay or nay herself. She is going to check with the MD and I will be in the office on Friday so I will know by the weekend. I will let you know as soon as I know Matt.

Aha, I have my camping stove from last year so you don't need the kettle, need a grinder though.

Still gotta buy a mega torch as well :)

OK let me say this once for people who don't understand, this event is held on private property with a maximum capacity of ~35.

Basically it is in my parents back garden, its a big garden but not massive, my parents allow this to happen through the goodness of their own hearts and I WILL NOT put them under more pressure than need be.

I like to be able to relax and the best way to enable me to do this is to have met and be comfortable with the attendees or at least have someone who can vouch for them from another meet, preferably a Don or member of the admin team.

If you think this is cliquey, quite frankly I don't really care, it isn't its being concientious about the people who provide the land. The land is provided FOC by the way and the will undoubtedly be time and money needed to make reperations to the lawn and site after the event. If we did this on a comercial site we would have noise levels and other restrictions place upon us, so we do it on private land. Its only fair for me to offer places to people who came last time before I open up the list to other people, would anyone have it any differently? I don't want to offend people by saying they can't come, no one was disruptive last time and if I banned everyone who had previously attended I would be stopping all my friends from coming and basically turning into an unpaid tour guide for a weekend, which neither I or Aitch are happy to do, sorry if this offends anyone but thats the way it is.

It was a serious shank of beef. It wasn't eaten by one person I can assure you! ;) However it was several kg (I think it was about 3kg) of meat! :D

ok thanks for clearing that up, I didn't understand that it was held at your 'rents place, as that is the case I totaly agree to your decision to limit partisipation and apoligise for thinking that you where being clicky
