BDO Darts

he really did get effected by that booing though.

was funny really. was watching it on bbci and the annoncer went mental at the crowd after it was off tv

I had to laugh when Hankey had a wobbly and just threw his last dart into the wall in a fit of rage. Good entertainment though.

It's embarassing, most of them can hardly play darts. It's just very poor and the BBC don't do it any favours either with some of the most shocking sports coverage ever.

Tony Green really needs to retire or something, some of his commentary this year has been shocking.

One game in particular someone had 2 sets & 1 leg, and in the next leg Tony was going on about 'this dart for the match'!

He's done it loads of times this year thinking the sets were best of 3. Someone really needs to tell him it's the best of 5 per set!

In Gary Andersons match, Gary had 41 left after 9 darts (on TWO occasions) and both times he said Gary had a chance for a 9 darter :p

I think the demise of the BDO will come shortly, there are some good players but the coverage has been dismal and there hae been so shocking players. With more money in PDC i cant see BDO being able to compete in a few years.

Well I've never seen a PDC match and I think the closest I've come to something similar was the World Series on ITV1 recently, but I always enjoy the coverage from the Lakeside and it's got it's own sort of charm.

Nice and relaxing to watch, the commentary team (especially Tony and Bobby together) make a decent hash of talking you through the proceedings and it's quite entertaining to watch. Admittedly there are some poor matches but the commentary usually makes up for that.

And the match on BBCi right now is excellent fun. Never heard it so quiet at the Lakeside when Moody's been taking his outshots!

Everytime I flick over to it its absolutely dead. The crowd and commentators don't seem interested. Maybe I've just been spoilt by good old Sid for the past few weeks but (to me) you can see why the big players all play in the PDC.

Skys money?

Just had a quick looks at some YouTube footage and I can see an immediate difference. The PDC looks like people have come there to watch the darts and have some fun and the BDO looks like they've come to the pub to get ****** and there just happens to also be some darts being played.

how did rossenbrand get on today?
Ended up losing 4-1.

As I'm at work and can't get onto any gambling sites, could someone do me a favour and look up the odds on Scottie Waites taking the title please?

I think he's in with a chance as he's managing to get through without hitting his doubles and am hoping he'll pick up form as the tournament progresses.

Yeah very true, and it seems like there playing down the local community center??

The crowd seem to make no noise unless someone hits a 180 or a 170 check out lol.

Or maybe its because the pdc is so good that the bdo seems abit cack?

Watched some of yesterday's match involving Ted Hankey during my lunch break today. He looks on form but seemed to choke a couple of times when trying to close out the match in the 4th (ended up winning in 5).

Also, is it just me or does anyone else find the camerawork has been awful so far in this tournament?

Have to laugh, some of these players are geniuses :D.
When asked about his recent match, an English player described it as "a game of three halves" lmao!

8-1 on PaddyPower, 10-1 on Ladbrokes, 8-1 on William Hill and 15-2 on Sky Bet.

That enough of a selection for you?

Saw an interesting piece in a newspaper the other day that claimed the PDC don't include missed doubles in their average scores where as the BDO do. Not quite sure what to make of all that.
