Quick explination, basically I was trying to tweak my connection using DGTeam firmware on my netgear, I was lowering the SNR on the SNR tweak tool, I lowered it to 95, didnt get any packet loss, then to 80, same again, then to 70, then to 60, here i started getting major packet loss to which I started increasing it again, then I reverted it back to 100% (The default) and ever since then Iv been getting major packet loss.

Even today my connection went down all day (I was in work) then came up again around 3pm.

Anyone know if iv done something which could have caused issues? the line stats look no different to what they were. Sync speed still at 14500kbps down.

IIRC BE only let you change the settings a few times per month using the web based control panel. Maybe they do the same even though you are using your router to alter the settings so even though you have updated the settings on your router the settings at the exchange are still on 60.

I think it's 6 times via the website, but you can send them a ticket as many times as you want.

OP - Send them a ticket requesting them to reset your connection to the 6dB profile either with fastpath or interleave.

Well, I managed to get from my 2 years at 15000kbps sync speed to 18070kbps today :)

Done some further tweaks myself, and BE did, and I also removed my bell wire :) There is no point changing my profile back to a 6db one, I am fine on a 3db profile as I have been for about a year so I know it can handle it.

Last Speed Test Result
Download Speed: 15146 kbps (1893.3 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 1134 kbps (141.8 KB/sec )

Connection is as stable as a horse glued to the floor.

Connection Speed 18076 kbps 1408 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.0 db 13.1 db
Noise Margin 3.3 db 3.1 db

I just moved house and had my BT and BE setup and installed in less than 3 working days. Can't believe it :D

I used bridge mode on the thompson adsl router and setup static IPs in my pfsense box. Worked perfectly. It connected at 10mbit/1mbit, How do i go about changing settings to increase upload speed ?

Can that be done from the thompson router or only from the dg834 ?

Do you have any urls on ideal adsl modulation settings ?

These settings:

Line Attenuation 23.0 db 13.1 db
Noise Margin 3.3 db 3.1 db

What is the ideal ?

The Be forums are great for getting you setup and configured with max speed

You should be getting a fair bit more than 10mbit down judging from your attenuation but your noise margin is already near its lowest ideal amount.

Where do you have your router plugged in? Is it on an extension or your master socket?
If you have a NTE5 socket with a detachable faceplate try connecting the router to the test socket and re-posting the stats again.

Your stats are basically the same as mine, im now getting 18mbps :)

All I done was got them to turn interleaving off, put on a 3db profile, had Service profile 20 with INP1 placed on line via BE, then removed the bell wire from my master socket.

Before the bell wire was removed I was on 15mbps, with it removed it bumped me up to 18mbps, the max you will get with them stats is between 18-19mbps download and about 1.4upload

I tweaked my connection right down today, seems to be ok. getting 14.7mbs on speedtest.

1.1dB SNR margin? I'd be surprised if that will remain stable!

There is a tool somewhere on the BE forums which you can download and register with, it shows you a graph of exchange congestion, this may be of use if your interested in finding out when your congestion starts.
