Are there any Be* users here that would recommend their service? I'm 1.03KM from my exchange but obviously the line will be longer than this. What speed do you expect I'd get and how would Be* compare with Virgin Media (currently on 20mb, fed up with capping).

Service is great though I don't know if you'll get better than the speeds you were seeing with Virgin.

Be are great, what use is 20mb Virgin if they throttle it back.

I would imagine that you would hit 20mb at that distance depending on the line stats.
Do the maths, if BE are financialy viable for you then go for it.
Have a read of the 10 page thread here, I dont think anyone has a bad word to say about them (apart from easily fixed DNS issues).

like 6meg with that distance..
:D

Thanks, I'll have a good read of that topic. :).

I'm 3km line length and usually sync at 15.5mb (when the line isn't FUBARd). Depends greatly on noise and quality of the copper

im 300m from the exchange and sync at 24.5mb

Great service. Email to raise problem tickets and you get a good quick response. they even text you when billing and such, also text for any downtime, updates to problems and so on.

Great service.

speed can vary depending on your BT line stats.
although i dont get full speed (i max out at 12-14mb on my crappy line), the service is good, little downtime

Datamonkey could I trouble you for your line stats and router model/make pls. Im a similar distance from the exchange but the elusive 24mb sync continues to evade me :D

I find their service great! Only downside is some people have issues with the router they supply. Personally I had a NetGear 834GT which gave me wireless problem. I swapped to the BeBox which gave me far better wireless performance and even better pings.

I sit my router on its side to help ventilate it, and touch wood had very few problems with it.

I'd recommend Be, especially for their prices!

I hope the line is decent then. Is there anyway to get them to replace the line, if it was the quality is turd?
