Be*, how are they?

I'm expecting to do this, Virgin is usually cable so it shouldn't have any adverse effects.

I don't know why I put gaming as the alternative as I never do anymore unless Spider Solitaire counts? Getting killed repeatedly in my favourite game by a certain someone kind of put me off... :p
 
Been with them under 2 months, utorrent says 290gb + god knows how much http traffic.

I connect at 13mb, download at ~1,500kb/s. Think I'm about 1.5km from exchange, been great so far.
 
Only thing is its moving faster than I thought so i need to get myself Netgear RangeMax WN121T Next Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter off e-bay or a shop.

Even got a stupid waste of money Virgin "Sleep on it note" with a blackout mask like you get in planes - sad really..........maybe if they did a better deal for there 2mb.

I'm connected to Be and Virgin at the moment on the same computer :p (I will be cancelling Be because of slow speeds though).
 
Glad I'm away from Virgin all the same, things are going down hill fast by the looks of it. My mate is also dropping Virgin over Be but he's waiting to see my speeds. Next door has BT home Hub and it wipes the floor on the same PR servers over Virgin.

View of my current service (Virgin 2Mb)

Was £10 offer that finished, so it was going to £18. Phoned to tell them no way I paying £18 – Best offer £15, then when I went the cancel route they phoned up to offer £10 but it was on a new 12 month contract, six Months of offer then back to square one. Game pings at the weekend – terrible. I don’t think I was ever capped but don’t like the sound of that.

Better achievable speeds up and down on "Be" for my kind of price.

pretty good.

if your line was 1.03km from the exchange, you're looking at 17-18mb. but obviously, excluding any physical characteristics which can hamper speeds (as there is lots)

Yeah, I'm just hoping the line quality round here is good and not turd. As far as I can rememember it was always pretty good standard, but who knows what state it might be in now.
 
worst thing you can get with adsl 2+, is noise. hell, using an extension cable can cut your sync 3-4mb.
 
BeBox just been delivered, lucky they sent me an Email with the tracker as it came up it was in a Van driving around Glasgow, so stayed in as I was going back out…..

So cant wait till the 9th.

So do you think I should ask for this interleaving turned off as I play BF2 PR-Mod and FM08 in a clan game apart from that I don’t really download a lot.

Depends what kind of pings you're getting, if they're in the high 50s a lot of the time and you like to game a lot, then go for it.

I’ve got both :D Virgin 20Mb and Be* which syncs at 12Mb the virgin line has faster pings but suffers from slow downloads while the Be* line is a constant speed. You can’t fault bethere I haven’t had one issue which is very good :) They also alert you well in advance if they are upgrading / maintaining there exchange.
 
Mine dosent go above 13 well to a UK based server :D

Be* Not too sure why its half the speed synced at 12Mb but the pings are a little higher then VM still very good though :)

Speedtest is great for Virgin, realtime gaming and downloading suck turd though. They've filled up our area way too much though and now expect to get 50mb in, good luck.

Maybe for you but it’s great for me, only slowdowns I get are random could be for a minute or 10 it’s a strange one but my pings and download speed 99% of the time constant, bring on 50Mb I say :D

How often do you download and how much?
